Luojia Youth Hostel

The room is dirty and very smelly. I booked 4 nights but decided to check out within 30 minutes.

I love staying in this hostel because it is near the Yellow Crane Tower and Simenkou. Pengliuyang subway station is only a nine-minute walk and just below the hostel are shops selling affordable items. My favorite are the clothing shops. There is a Watsons nearby and some stands selling refreshments. I stayed in an eight-bed dorm room and it was clean and organized. When you get to your space, bed sheet, pillow case, and comforter are ready. You have to make your bed. My other roommate thought it was convenient but I actually liked the fact that I know that the sheets I am sleeping in are clean/freshly washed. The shared toilets are kept clean. I think there are four to five cubicles. Japanese-style toilets are available! The washroom, however, could use a little upgrade. Maybe place an area where guests can comfortably hang clothes or bring other important things without worrying that our things might get wet. There are slippers by the second floor front desk area that you can use for free. I didn't have a towel so I asked if I can rent one. The lad at the front desk gave me a disposal towel free of charge. At the common area, they play movies with ample space for hanging out. You can bring your laptops because tables are provided. Only one staff spoke a little English when I was there so it's always a good idea to brush up on your Mandarin Chinese. If you don't speak Chinese, be sure to download translation apps. You'll need them. Will I stay here again? Absolutely yes! Very affordable rate in a location that is so convenient for sightseeing and shopping.

It's a cheap and well-located hostel, and the staff was very nice. However, beyond these points, the hostel has a lot to improve. There are only two toilets per floor, with no soap, paper, or towels. It was quite cold in the rooms, and the other guests were somewhat annoying. Additionally, the common room is quite small, and I couldn't see the rooftop terrace—it seemed to be closed.

Front desk crew was chill and friendly, but guests were a huge problem. I didn't feel safe at all. The laundry area is right next to the dumpster downstairs. It smells. Windows cannot be opened because of that. The laundry area is also shared between male and female, but it's also the smoking area. Overhead the girls chatting that some guy smoking was staring as she hung out her bra and panties... Someone threw a giant apricot seed in the shower and choked everything ***? Everything in the room has a weird smell as well. People don't close the door. They freaking leave it open, and the password changes randomly??? Plus the cabinet locks beep SO LOUDLY. There's also no toilet paper anywhere. If it's too cheap and the hostel can't even afford comfortable stay, please just increase the price. People come and go... make it so uncomfortable...

It was a fine overall hostel. Nothing special nothing terrible. Rooms were decently clean, toilets and showers could’ve done with a better clean, the same cigarette butt was in the shower from check in to out. Showers also still don’t have locks, presumed not ever fixed from a previous review which mentioned the same thing. Inherent lack of places to hang of place things in room, bed and bathroom. Would be nice to have a shelf or somewhere to hang towel out to dry. Have to make and deconstruct bedding which is a bit cheeky. But for the price it’s a good hostel in a good location.

I only stayed one night but it was a pleasant experience! I could leave my luggage here until check in time and the people were extremely nice. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and I had everything I needed :)
