WhatsApp Victoria Byron Good location, the room is nice and cozy. The value is somewhat over-priced by around 20%. The service was good and staff at The Crown were friendly. Happy with how clean the place was. Downside - wi-fi is not secure/password protected, no parking place for visitors. Friendly staff. Alan is very good manager! P.S. The best cappuccino we've ever had!

A nice place to stay but not great value. Very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, big and comfortable. Toiletries lovely. Tea bags would be more convenient in a hotel room than loose leaf, and we had to go and ask for a tea strainer. Fresh milk a lovely touch. Comfy bed, nice shower. So all the essentials are done well. But this isn’t a boutique hotel, it’s rooms above a nice pub, and £225 pn is very, very steep. Breakfast service was very friendly but very slow, the waitress needed more help. Avocado on toast was odd; the avocado was fresh out the fridge and very cold; hence toast was cold and poached egg was only just cooked. The result was cold and not very appetising. Full English looked much better. Be warned that free parking in Woodstock is 12 hours only, so if you arrive in the afternoon you need to be up very early if you don’t want to risk a fine.

We had a lovely stay at The Crown following a day in Oxford and then a trip around Blenheim Palace before coming home again the following day. On arrival the bar staff helped me with local parking spots, and then upon check in we was given a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room (4) which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. My suitcase was kindly taken upstairs for me, along with fresh water and milk for the room. We had a lovely roll top bath and shower in the bathroom with robes and essential toiletries included. We went out for dinner in the evening to a restaurant nearby and headed back to The Crown for a couple of drinks before bed. The bed was really comfy and we got a good night sleep, before waking for breakfast which was included in our stay. Food was lovely and freshly cooked to order. 100% recommend The Crown, we was made to feel very welcome by the staff who couldn't have been friendlier and we will certainly re book if we come to visit again .

Everything you hope for when staying away - outstanding customer service, very comfortable spacious room (1), excellent breakfast. Only downside for us was parking which was challenging over a bank holiday but the positives above warrant ‘excellent’ from us.

Lovely room with fabulous towels and bed. Very comfortable. Good bathroom marred by bad lighting in it. Menu needs improvement . Not sure what went wrong with breakfast but it seemed impossible to get an order right. Good location in town though our window was the height of passing buses so beware of opening curtains!

Stayed in room 4, bridal room, with my daughter for the eve of her wedding. This room was amazing - so large and roomy with a warm feeling and such a comfortable bed. We had bridesmaids and hair & makeup join us for the morning & the size of room made it so enjoyable. Breakfast delivered was fantastic. The service was impeccable from start to finish, from top level to waiting staff.

The breakfast was outstanding and friendly service. Room was spacious, beautifully designed, with great bathroom and products. The eco friendly hand soap and bamboo toothbrushes were a nice touch. Only negative was the road noise in room 1 which stems from its location on the corner. Additional glass has been added to mitigate this which does dull it, but not completely.

What is not to like about this really nice ‘pub with rooms’?! It has incredibly helpful and friendly staff, a pleasant modern decor, albeit in a period building, comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms and decent pub food. Located in the centre of Woodstock, it is well worth considering for a short stay in the area, or overnight en route to further away.
