This COULD be a great hotel. It is clean and the front of house staff are very helpful and friendly. However, there is a large business opposite the hotel. Their employees park along the road into the hotel and they were coming and going from 0430am each day. This meant car noise, music and shouting disturbed my sleep each morning. It's a shame as without this the hotel would be fab.

Rooms always spotlessly clean and deliver the aim of a pleasant stay. Front of house staff are chatty, friendly and always looking to please customers. Just decent people which is pleasing. I’ve tried other local Premier Inns but pick this one as my favourite.

I’ve been staying in this hotel for the last 8 months because of work commitments, and can honestly say, it’s been a pleasure staying because of the attitude from the management and their team ensuring every visit is as good as the last, it’s made working away from home easier. Rooms are always clean and fresh on arrival, a big well done to Ameene, Adam, Diane, Becky and the rest of the team. Thank you

After reading the reviews I was a little concerned but on arrival this soon changed. The staff were very friendly and inviting managed to get in my room early. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfy. Very quiet in the night. Lots of traffic parked up on the edge near the hotel but this didn’t affect our stay

I have stay in a number of premier inns over the last year as my daughter plays football and we have had to travel a fair bit for matches we are from the south east so Barnsley was far from a local match, we want to get up there and for her to be well rested for the following morning. The hotel rooms were unpleasant, the first smelt like damp and was just grim and they moved us to another room that didn’t smell like damp and was slightly less grim. If you do need to go here do not accept a room on the ground floor the floorboards are soo creaky and if you are a light sleeper like I am you will be woken up non stop.

We have stayed at many premier inn hotels but this one was the worst. We had a family room with 2 adults and 2 children. On first glance everything seemed ok until we stepped into a wet patch on the carpet and the kids started finding bits of balloon confetti or something on the floor. It was clear it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The heating kept switching off every 5 minutes and the room was cold all evening and night. There was mould all around the window and the plug holes were disgusting. None of us had a great nights sleep and the mattress was terrible. We noticed the following morning the the mattress was upside down. It was far from a comfortable nights stay. We went for dinner at just after 8pm and I really wished we had just driven to McDonald’s! Apparently they were a chef down and seemed reluctant to take our order. Our daughter had the kids burger but didn’t like it one bit. It was like cardboard. Our son did enjoy is chicken and ribs but that was the only good meal. My wife had some sort of platter and the portion size was very small of the meat. I had a sirloin steak which was well overcooked and cold, I had asked for it to be medium. Due to the time was wasn’t allowed to order anything else, including a dessert which could have made up for the disappointing meal. The breakfast in the morning was just ok. The only good thing was that kids ate free. The cooked breakfast cold and what is it with the toasters! Takes forever to toast and cold in less than 30 seconds. Honestly this is the worst experience we have had at any premier inn. They are usually a nice treat and experience for us but this one left us very disappointed.
