Top top notch place !! A little bit of heaven on earth. From meeting Saduni on reception (lovely girl, couldn’t do enough to help you) through to Ishan who helped guide our village visit, and helped us at meal times (so friendly and helpful), to chaminda (resident and truly wonderful naturist) every single member of the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful visit. The glamping tents were SO comfortable- superbly comfortable bed, AC, loo, brilliant shower - everything and more that you could wish for - all the sounds of the outdoors, but in cosy luxury indoors!! The food was amazing - 7 courses and totally delicious. Lovely pool area, right close to lake, birds xx everywhere and land monitor lizards all around! We went on a couple of guided bird walks around the camp which we loved, and also went to Yala and were lucky enough to see a leopard close up, relaxed and personal!! What a thrill!! Great Spa on Stilts, too…. Cool and wonderfully tranquil and relaxing . If you get a chance to go to this camp - definitely go!!

Amazing location inside beautiful nature with very friendly staff. We booked a safari directly through the hotel and everything was well organized. Dinner was very delicious in the evenings. Overall great experience! We would always come back.

We had a wonderful time at this unique setting on the shores of the lake. The accommodation was really comfortable and the evening meal and breakfast were delicious. As it was my birthday the staff had gone to the trouble of decorating my bed with flower petals and had even made me a personalised cake! How kind of them! This is the perfect place to chill after a safari trip to Yala. A big thank you to Sanduni and his team for making our stay so enjoyable and unforgettable.

When you arrive in a place named « eco lodge » you are expecting some positive attitude towards environnement… How then can we explain air conditionning under a tent?? It is useless. Another negative point is lights. We can barely see what we have around us inside tent. Same in restaurant if you do not choose a table below light. But no problem of light on the path… The only positive point is the way they organise safari in Yalla.

This is a small tented lodge situated next to a lake. The tents are luxurious with air conditioning and a comfortable bathroom. We selected it because of its proximity to Bundala National Park and two of the less busy gates to Yala National Park. We particularly liked the fact than after an early morning safari you could have breakfast "anytime". The food itself was very good and the staff helpful. The only downside is the occasional noise from the Hilton next door disturbing this tranquil place. Fortunately it is not every day and when we were there ended by 4pm.

We’d only booked one night here - a place to rest between travels - but it was so nice! We could see lots of wildlife around the lodge, and I believe they offer a birdwatching walk too. The food was amazing in a beautiful little restaurant overlooking the lagoon. The rooms didn’t look like much from the outside, but they were incredibly clean, and offered all needed amenities! Thank you!

Little I can add to the fabulous reviews already on here Location superb - views lovely Food - top notch - excellent chef Staff really friendly with good English Once inside tent could be inside top class hotel room . Pool excellent and refreshing with great views over the lake They have addressed any potential noise issue ( see earlier comment) with ear plugs provided . I would say this wasn’t an issue at all when we stayed . Lovely young man does free hour bird watching tour - suggest you go 5ish and also get some fabulous views of sunset over the lake . Negatives - bugs ! Surely some natural big repellant could be used to enable guests to sit out in late afternoon

We had the best time staying at Flameback Eco Lodge - the location is beautiful, the food amazing and the staff very friendly & helpful! We booked a full day safari and a half day (afternoon) across both national parks with Thushan and were extremely fortunate to see a leopard! The tent accommodation was very impressive, spotless, cool with A/C and immaculate. We will 100% be returning on our next trip to Sri Lanka!
