We stayed three nights which was enough to experience all of Winton's palaeontological attractions, including the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum and its Dinosaur Canyon, Fossil Prep Lab, Collection Room, and Gondwana stars tour, as well as the Dinosaur Stampede National Monument and hiking in the surrounding Lark Quarry Conservation Park. Actually we could have stayed longer, and explored more of the park areas and opal country! The hotel is well set up for those on long treks; it offers coin-operated laundry, and if you walk down Elderslie Street you'll find breakfast at the Balamara Bakery, and also several other restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful. The brolgas that hang around the front of the hotel are an added attraction, especially for children.
