very good hotel, well located and with a very welcoming staff. Rooms are large and comfortable. The combined ticket with the Technorama was very convenient. the only little downside is that the spa and its pool is restricted to 16 y old and older. This was quite disappointing for our son.

This was good hotel pick. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend and stay here again. English-speaking staff were throughout the hotel. It's located one block over from a multitude of shops, cafes, and restaurants. There was even a outside free concert for 2 days with great music. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. The train station is about half a mile away. Please take the train in from the airport as my the taxi arranged by the hotel cost $200 USD. I later found out I could have taken one train ride in for $13. I stayed in room 202. It had a great view of the outdoor on-site restaurant, with a comfortable bed, and updated bathroom. The complimentary beverages in the fridge were much appreciated. The housekeeping was exceptional. I would have appreciated an outdoor space to sit out and enjoy the great weather. The room came with a very large glass sliding door but without a screen to shield the room from bugs and the many birds. This was only 1 of the 2 things I found fault. The other was a personal preference. The onsite restaurant had a very good free breakfast with lots of variety. I did not like the dinner menu. I ordered the bass one evening and was not impressed with the taste or portion size. It was dry and not seasoned well. The service on that evening was lacking, however, I ordered take-away on another evening and was well-pleased. I sat at the bar and had a glass of sweet white and excellent conversation with the server while waiting for my hamburger and fries. Both were amazing. So much so I went back on another evening to order the hamburger and fries again, but, sadly it was not being offered that evening. I paid an additional 39 CHF to check in at 7:00 am with the check-in a pleasant experience. The check-out went just as smooth. I walked the 4 blocks and hopped on the train to the airport. I was staying at Hotel Wartmann from August, 16th to 20th 2022. The last day was an extension of my stay but was agreed and confirmed on site. Upon returning to my room on the last evening I found it cleaned and some of my personal belongings removed. This included toilet articles and a bound book I was reading at the time. The young receptionist was helpful but couldn't locate the items. She wanted to ask around and phone me later in the evening which didn't happen. The next morning the reception was closed and nobody was around who knew about the missing items. Back home I wrote an email to the hotel asking for the return or refund at least of the book, which I recently bought for the price of around CHF 50.--. No anwser till today! Basically the hotel as a place is ok, but there seem to be no real hotel manager and the young staff isn't able or experienced enough to handle problems. I can't recommend the place for said reason.

Our first time in Winterhur, so we did not know what to expect. The hotel is very well located - coming out of the front you are surrounded by shops and restaurants, and the train station is about 5-10minutes away. The rooms were nice - bed comfortable, and they have a pillow menu as well. The bathrooms are big, with toiletries from RITUALS. They leave little wafer sticks on your bed daily. There's a Nespresso coffee maker as well as a kettle for tea. Breakfast buffet is quite good as well, with mostly, if not all, food items of organic origin. The worst thing about this place is that it's a little hard to locate if you're driving there, as it's located in a pedestrian only area. But that's about it! There's a parking garage that the hotel uses but it's located BEFORE the hotel so after you've unloaded all your luggage, you have to circle back to the parking garage which is just a few steps before the hotel.

Un hôtel simple, joli, rénové avec goût mais le plus impressionnant est l’accueil. Un monsieur à la réception d’un gentil, serviable, poli et fait tout pour que votre arrivée soit réussie. J’avais oublié mon chargeur de téléphone portable mais sans autre il en a cherché un, testé s’il fonctionnait et me le prête jusqu’au lendemain. Certains établissements plus luxueux n’ont pas cette façon d’être sympathique et intentionnés pour ses clients. Chapeau et merci. 🙏

One of the best places I’ve stayed so far. Literary 2 minutes’ walk from the train station. The facility itself is very clean, modern looking and have freshening bright white interior. The room that we stayed was spacious and clean, had spotless clean sheets/linens, and more than adequate catering (coffee capsules of Nespresso and cream&sugar). The floor cleaners was so polite and hospitable. In addition, the 8th of June 2023 morning front-office staff Ada Ammann was outstandingly polite, hospitable, cheerful and eager to help us. We were sleepless and tired because of the flight and she helped us to check-in before the announced hour. She also provided us w/ the info to get train tickets, FX conversion points and even breakfast options. To sum up, I highly recommend this hotel to all who wishes to visit Zurich area.

We have stayed at the same hotel again, so there were no surprises, on the contrary : a sense of familiarity. The hotel is clean and quiet and its location is very convenient, three minutes by public transport from the railway station and at the same time away from noise. We could do with a little more variety at breakfast. I would particularly like to thank the staff at the reception desk, who were very kind and helpful.

Siamo partiti venerdi sera per winterthur con tutta la famiglia (2adulti e 2 bambini (6/3). L' ostello si trova in una zona tranquilla e facile da trovare. Ci hanno accolto con gentilezza e con molta professionalita. La persona ha cercato anche di parlare in italiano ed è stato molto apprezzato. Visto che siamo giuti con la macchina, ci sono state proposte 2 possibilità: una variante da 9.- al coperto o una variante da 5.- all aperto. Entrambe le soluzioni a pochi passi dall ostello. Noi abbiamo optato per il coperto. Conviene annunciarsi, in quanto pochi posti disponibili. La stanza che abbiamo preso noi era una quadrupla (2 letti a castello + letto matrimoniale) con doccia e wc in camera. Per una famiglia è la soluzione ottimale. Stanza confortevole, molto grandi, pulita e molto ben arredata (antico con moderno). A me sono piaciute molte le travi a vista, in quanto la stanza era in un soppalco all ultimo piano. Ho dormito molto bene. Abbastanza insonorizzato, eventualmente alla reception forniscono i tappi. Abbiamo scelto l opzione con colazione, e al mattino abbiamo potuto fare in cucina la colazione. Bello che si ha la possibilita di scegliare vare opzioni di colazione: budjet, mini, standard, ... cosi ognuno può scegliere quale aggrada di piu! Inoltre è a disposizione una cucita ben fornita, per scaldare, per mettere in frigo, cucinare. La scelta di questo ostello è stato veramente vincente e siano stati molto contenti. Consiglio a tutti! Anche con bambini piccoli. Il prezzo è assolutamente basso e ne vale la pena, sopratutto per coloro che come noi vogliono magari sono visitare in un giorno il museo technorama o la citta.

Nice hotel and room. I was afraid of difficulties with check-in, but in the end I called the ”intercom” at the entrance to the hotel, they explained how to get the key. In the common area there is a coffee machine, tea and apples :) the bed is comfortable. It's about 7 minutes to walk to the station.
