We recently stayed at Valley Hi Motel for two nights in September during the off season. The motel is located right on the main street in town and is very convenient to shops, restaurants and businesses.
The room was surprisingly large and very clean. We only had two issues during our stay, one of which was cleared up immediately after talking to the manager at the front desk. Our main issue was very uncomfortable beds. The first night my husband and I slept in one of the two queen beds in the room and had an absolutely terrible night due to the extremely hard mattress. The mattress was so hard my hips were hurting when I woke up in the morning. (I am a side sleeper). The mattress was like sleeping on a hard board. The second night we both decided we had to try the other bed to see if it was better. Well, not very much! We both agreed it was the worst sleep we'd had in a motel ever.
The motel is old, but appears to be maintained well except for the mattress issue. Breakfast included donuts, croissants, yogurt and coffee, placed on a counter out in the hallway, rather skimpy. We opted to go out for breakfast instead.
Overall, the motel was very average, good for someone looking for a very inexpensive place to stay and no frills.
