First off, I almost didn't get a room. I walked in to check in and they looked at me as if I was lost, referred me to another hotel that was probably where my reservation was. I confirmed the address, and I was in the right place. I went to get my reservation from my car and sure enough, I was in their system. It seemed as if they were overbooked and cancelled all their reservations about a month back. They said I would have to get a refund from *******, well I booked through AAA. All in all, they gave me a room. This room was the worst I have ever seen, and I am not super particular. There was no cable/satellite, just a coax cable hanging over a mirror with a copper wire hanging out of it. The remote had been chewed by something, I assume a dog as this place is pet friendly. There were cigarette burns on my comforter and bleach stains (I hope). I noticed blood droplets on the carpet. The room smelled of cologne. I did check for bedbugs and that was about all it had going for it (as I didn't find any evidence). Now, I realize that this may not have been a room they were looking to release as they didn't even realize I was coming. This was the weekend of the eclipse and the entire town was booked out, or I probably would have tried another hotel. In their defense, the staff was really nice. They sent a guy out to fix the tv reception, and he was there promptly and a nice man. The front desk staff, while seemingly frustrated that my reservation had not been cancelled, was very nice.
