While this hotel is very central for exploring Winchester, the bathroom facilities let it down. We were in the ground floor room (be warned a bit noisy from the road, the reception and the 'buffalo' above); and while I accept the bathroom had been designed to cater for disability access, it was awful! The sink was so tiny and had a glass shelf right above it... so to spit out toothpaste you needed extreme precision, or just spat on your own feet, and it was impossible to wash your face or shave at the sink. The walk-in shower simply flowed towards the bedroom, so that the whole bathroom was filled with water after just a quick shower, and we needed to use towels like sandbags to stop it flowing onto the bedroom carpet. SEE PHOTOS. The toilet seat rotated and the toiletries were a little meagre for x2 people sharing a room. Staff were very welcoming, and I liked to tea facilities in the dining area. Just please someone, re-fit that bathroom!

An amazing stay with very friendly staff! Before we arrived staff were really communicative and attentive to our needs. We were given our key and a code to get in the door when reception was unmanned. The room's style was quirky and interesting, creating a lot of talking points! The room itself was very generously sized with a decent ensuite. The bed was really comfortable and the wifi worked well. My wife has allergies, and they were all catered for and she was able to have a full English breakfast (this was aided by the great communication of the staff beforehand). This place represents great value for money and a place to stay unlike anywhere I've been before.

Excellent. Car parking is nearby. Only a one minute walk into Winchester centre. Breakfast was brilliant and the dining room is open all day and night so you can help yourself to hot drinks and snacks. Lady on the desk was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again when we next visit Winchester

Cosy clean and warm. Steph cooked us a great breakfast and was very welcoming. Really good find in Winchester and great location with parking 5 minutes away. Our room was quite small but adequate and the bathroom was very small but again adequate…. Overall very good.😊

This hotel was booked as a surprise by my husband because it was quirky . Room was cell 8 which was decorated like a prison . Clean room and great location , just a short walk along the river to town which was about 10 minutes. Car park was 5 minutes walk as multi story car park there was plenty of spaces and cost £10 for overnight stay. Breakfast was lovely whatever you wanted even catered for coeliac which we found there was 3 of us at breakfast. Full English offered but not compulsory!!!! Breakfast room available all day for tea and coffee which was a bonus & pub next door if you wanted a after dinner drink ( even can take back to our room ) Helpful host with plenty of local knowledge. Would highly recommend if you like unusual settings.

Well located and comfortable cell. Scrupulously clean with comfortable wide bed. No parking on site but nearby multi storey. Excellent home cooked breakfast with cereals and toast options. Unlimited supply of teas and coffees in downstairs dining room but no tea/coffee facilities in rooms. Very reasonably priced as so close to city centre’s shops and restaurants. Would recommend.

The whole prison theme works well and is s good novelty idea as are the fun room furnishings. Everything else was good. The room size was ok, warm and comfortable. Breakfast options were good and I didn't mind popping down their to make the occasional coffee. The town centre is a 5 min walk.

The rooms are quirky and trendy. Designed to resemble a prison cell. Bed was comfortable but no radiator in bedroom but was in bathroom which was immaculate. Main complaint, no kettle in bedroom although you could get a drink any time from dining room. No lift and many stairs. Nice hotel.
