Comfortable hotel on the high street. The food was excellent. Good selection of excellent food for the evening meal. Choice of local ales. Breakfast also a very good selection of food. Choice of fruit & cereals etc plus excellent cooked food. I would thoroughly recommend this place. Staff were polite, cheerful & helpful. Why did I give it only 4 stars you may ask! It is an old coaching Inn. Our room was very comfortable with good quality facilities but not quite 5 star. The food however was most certainly 5 star.

I flew in from San Francisco to celebrate my mother’s 82nd birthday and booked brunch at the White Hart as a surprise before we left to Edinburgh to visit my son. About an hour before the event we received an email from tue White Hart stating that the chef had called in sick but that we were welcome to join them for lunch at noon - only an hour after our booking. We could not do this since we had a train to catch. Seems that with little effort the staff could either have accommodated us - since someone was obviously in the kitchen to make lunches - or given us enough notice to make alternative plans. We’ll never know if the chef had a few too many pints or if they couldn’t be bothered to serve breakfast, but it was a pretty poor showing and very disappointing. Needless to say we won’t be going back.

Very disappointing offering - 3 finger sandwiches which were ok but nothing special. 3 tiny 'cakes' per person each no bigger than a 10 pence coin. Only one scone each, but as they were such a peculiar texture, springy and doughy rather than light and crumbly, this wasn't such a bad thing. Only redeeming feature was the generous portion of cream.

We called in for coffee and a bacon sandwich. The coffee was quite good and the bacon was freshly cooked. However, the bread was the cheapest, thinest possible, it looked like it as if with a razor blade. £7.95 for the sandwich, would have been acceptable if the bread had been of quality.

Disappointing. We came here on a Cotswold walking holiday and this was the worst hotel that we stayed in during the trip. The room was in shabby condition, not particularly clean and with obvious mold problems in the bathroom. We were also located right over the bar which was very incompatible for sleeping. We were kept awake until late which was very frustrating as we were quiet tired from our walk that day. Service was mediocre. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. While this might be a cool place to come have a drink, I would not recommend staying here.

Stayed for 2 nights 29 Sept - 1st Oct. Stayed in room 5. Very basic. In need of a total redecoration. Windows frames rotten in places and very dirty. Staines on the bathroom walls. Dirty and stained carpet. No mattress protectors. The bed however were comfy. No glasses or water in the room. We stayed as the temperatures dropped. there was no heating in the rooms or bathroom. When enquired, we were told head office would not allow for the heating to be put on and that's why all the staff were wearing jumpers! The food was good as were the bar and restaurant staff. Part of the inn looked reasonable and had been painted but the front / entrance bar and back area was very dirty and tatty. This Inn needs to decide if it is offering rooms, as this seems to be less important than the food

Absolutely outstanding. Right in the middle of Winchcombe, (a picturebook small Cotswolds town, with everything in it), so much so that we had to make sure our curtains were closed to hide us from the hardware store across the High Street. Car park is approx. a 4 minute walk away, as is the paper shop. Double room with en-suite big bathroom was spotless, to the extent the smell of bleach in the bathroom was at first, almost overpowering. Strong shower and light you turn on in the bathroom after the door is shut, so you don't disturb your partner, Bed was big and firm, very comfortable. Menu was small but very well presented, and staff were extremely helpful. Not great for wheelchairs as there doesn't seem to be a lift. we had a red letter deal which pretty much covered everything, except drinks. My wife and I would go back there tomorrow if we were able. Sudeley Castle, (Catherine Parr's resting place) is walking distance and well worth while. Thoroughly recommended.

Myself, my wife and our 5 year old popped in for some lunch. Waitress was quite nice came and took our orders, and brought our drinks. The "clean" table did have a few crumbs of food on it but I let that slip. A few minutes later the chef emerged from the kitchen in filthy overalls and starts chatting to someone on the customer side of the bar. He then started picking his nose rather vigorously and then proceeded to roll (for quite a while!) and flick the contents onto the floor, he was also scratching his head. We were literally gobsmacked. I asked to cancel the food and pay the bill just for the drinks. Worst thing was, they didn't even ask why! Which shows terrible management. Don't eat here! who knows what croutons could be in your soup.
