I stayed at The Dolphin in a twin room as I was attending a friend's birthday party which was also hosted at the hotel. After a warm welcome in the bar and at reception, I found a clean comfortable, bright airy room, pleasantly decorated, overlooking the main street which was surprisingly quiet throughout my stay. Supplied with a decent amount of toiletries, and fluffy good sized towels a selection of branded, teas, coffees, hot chocolates, and choc-chip cookies, a welcome treat after a long journey. The party was hosted across a quaint cobbled courtyard which boasted a large screen showing the rugby six nations match for patrons who wanted to watch the game. The party was catered for by the hotel who tempted guests with an Indian buffet, delicious, with a vegan option. Afterwards platters of dainty sweet treats and a constant supply of coffee, a selection of teas and jugs of water for the designated drivers. There was a well stocked bar exclusive to party guests, staff kept the food and drink well stocked whilst providing an efficient, unobtrusive service throughout the evening. After the celebrations I enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep. In the morning a choice of breakfasts, included in the price, was on offer. A kitchenette just off the dining room allowed guests to help themselves to teas, coffees and juices, as well as toast, whilst waiting for our freshly cooked breakfasts to be bought to our table. My full English was cooked to perfection, fresh produce, crispy bacon and not at all greasy. Good portion sizes without being overfacing. Again a vegan option was made available to guests, alongside, porridge and continental options on the menu. A really pleasant stay, with staff providing a relaxed friendly atmosphere throughout my stay. Great value for money

We had the carvery, the beef was well cooked but small portion, uninspiring selection of vegetables, the sprouts were not edible, needed another 10 mins in the pan, the rest of the meal was ok, the service was good, had eaten in The Dolphin before, this time the meal did not impress.

Great pub food, good choice and very social staff. Dog friendly. The range of ciders are superb. Good range of pub food with all the usuals on the menu and the prices aren’t bad either. Looking forward to our next visits over the next few weeks.

We pulled off the A303 on the way to taking our daughter to university. It was a really hot day. The staff were friendly. We ordered standard pub grub; a jacket potato, a baguette and a veggie burger. It all came really nicely presented with a lovely fresh side salad and was tasty. A really nice find.

What an absolute delight it was to stay at dolphin . The staff are warm and welcoming and Liz and John the landlord could not do enough for me. They made me feel very welcome and as I am crutches helped me with walking my dog and with any other special needs I had. The rooms are spotless as is the Hotel itself. The breakfast is out of this world with a fantastically clean breakfast room full of lovely fresh juices , cereals and other lovely goodies. Then as if that wasn't enough you get the choice of either a freshly cooked delicious full English breakfast which was just lovely. My partner is gluten free and without even having to ask Liz and John catered for his needs too supplying fresh gluten free options for him too. Outstanding service. Outstanding people. I loved my stay with them and it was so lovely that I actually felt a little bit sad when I left. This place has been made into a little slice of heaven and if you need a place to lay your head and be spoilt rotten then you should most definitely book at the dolphin. I am 52 and with my old job had to stay in alot of hotels over the years but this place beats the lot hands down and I highly recommend it you won't regret it if I could give them good ten stars I would . Absolutely super!!

We booked 2 rooms as the family room had been taken. They were clean, tidy and good amount of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Towels were good and bathroom was clean and functional. The place is tired, but it is a friendly place and all staff were pleasent and helpful. The food was the best thing about our stay, mushroom risotto, burger that made my some eyes pop put, ham egg and chips were on another level. I am gluten free and the next morning it was great to find they had gone out of their way to provide a seperate toaster, bread and cerials for choices, aswell as gf sausage on a gorgeous breakfast. The only downside was we didn't know when we booked that there was a drum and bass evening on so it was loud, retiring to our rooms early with kids as it was too much. The music to be fair stopped at 11.45 and the security made sure all had exited. It is what it is!!

We called in this place on a Monday evening after leaving Bournemouth airport and getting our directions wrong. We were hungry and were hoping for something to eat. We were treated to a delicious meal with warm friendly staff. It was disappointing to see they weren’t busier but it was a Monday! We will definitely do a detour to eat here if passing by again!!

Really enjoyed the Sunday roast that I had here today. It's not somewhere I eat regularly as I'm not local but on the occasions that I do eat here it's clear that I'd be a regular if I did! Happy and attentive staff, delicious food and a nice ambience. Thank you. X

FANTASTIC STAYCATION We stayed here for 1 night for a local festival from start to finish it was the best! Brilliant location! Excellent Value! Delicious Breakfast! Very Comfortable Rooms! Every member of staff from owners to bar staff to cleaners were friendly helpful and cheerful. Myself and hubby intend to make a effort to return on weekends off (not that get many) and whole family a annual trip as this was to mark and celebrate my deceased brothers birthday. July is a tough time for us as a family and we honestly found happiness this weekend even though it poured it down with rain it was thanks to Rock and Ribs and Dolphin Hotel Take care everyone see you all as soon as
