Located on a mountainside, the road is easy to find. Supermarkets, restaurants, bus stops nearby. Free parking is sufficient. The hotel also has its own restaurant. The room was very clean. Rent prices are also fair compared to Swiss prices. 15 minutes drive down the hill to the bustling town and 30 minutes from the nearest highway exit.
Recommended for long-term vacations, good choice for family relaxation, and pleasant mountainside scenery.
Reminder: The power plug in Switzerland is different from that of neighboring countries, so be sure to bring it in advance

In my opinion, the Sonne is the best and most family-friendly hotel in Wildhaus. Being part of the leading family for many years shows a touching friendship. The hotel meets our expectations. The rooms are always clean and the staff very friendly. We will always consider the Sonne, as we have done for many years, with or without our children and grandchildren. Thank you very much!

Very friendly staff. Very "homely". Not modern but still pleasant and pretty. You feel like you're at grandma and grandpa's house. The only unpleasant thing was the church bell at 6 a.m. The hotel was great though, but that's not their fault. :)

Hotel rooms are furnished in an old-fashioned way. The fixed hairdryer didn't work and there was a replacement. I wondered why the broken hairdryer wasn't removed. In the restaurant we waited a long time for the food to be served. When the game dish was brought, we were unfortunately not that hungry and we didn't like it either.

We spent a weekend at the Hotel Sonne with friends. We had a superior room (a good size, unfortunately a bit noisy) while our friends had a standard room, where both the bed (feet stick out from underneath) and the room were VERY small. In both rooms everything was clean and well-kept, but the bathroom in particular is a bit dated and could do with a renovation for the price. The breakfast buffet is OK, although it is rather difficult to get an egg and eggs are only free for 3 minutes. A fried egg would have cost extra. We ate in the hotel one evening, the prices are rather high - but the food was good and the portions OK.

I ordered the "venison schnitzel Mirza" that was listed on the menu. Although the price was rather high, I ordered it. CHF 40.00 When it was served, I was a little surprised. Spätzli, venison schnitzel and half an apple were on the plate. The meat was about 120 grams. The sauce was rather thin and garnished with 10 halved grapes. There were no Brussels sprouts on it either. Luckily there were 3 in the bread basket and that was how I satisfied my hunger. Price-performance ratio is not right in this case!

Family-run hotel in Wildhaus. Both the rooms and the other areas are very clean and well-kept. Friendly and helpful staff. We felt very comfortable there. This also applies to our dog. We ate very well in the restaurant and the drinks menu also offers something for everyone. Unfortunately, at least our room was very small and the beds were rather (too) short. (Especially with a dog) The 15-minute bell ringing of the neighboring church at night didn't really contribute to a restful sleep.
