My wife and I are regulars at the Travelodge in Basildon but decided to branch out into Wickford and we are so pleased we did. We were checked in by the lovely purple Lilly, who went above and beyond for us and wrote her name down on a card when my wife asked. The housekeeper I crossed paths with was also brilliant, I asked reception and believe her name was Grace. Upon checkout we were met with another pink haired lady, who was very chatty and concluded our stay to be a great one. The rooms were perfectly clean and tidy, but it's the staff which really makes this place.

Booked to stay at another travelodge, and was phoned at 10pm (after my long journey down South) to say that they hadn’t managed to reserve me a room so I would have to stay in Wickford. No refund offered. Very shocking as I was young woman travelling alone.

Not worth the money. I understand that this is a no frills chain. However, over £100 for a night in a hotel without the following: No Shower gel in the container X1 loo roll X1 set of towels for a twin room No fan (we requested a fan at the reception, but they didn’t have one) Mugs in the room had coffee stains on the outside. The room was stifling and without a fan it was unbearable. I found it insane that they could not provide a fan during hot weather. The person on the front desk was vaping in the office, once she was ‘spotted’ she tried to blow the vape smoke away. Pretending no one had seen.

Although the rooms are clean and tidy and the bathroom smells of bleach (which always is a good sign for me! My review is based more so on Customer Service, in this particular instance. The Manager, who goes by the name of Kerry is a fine example off what good customer service is, she is friendly, informative, very welcoming and her persona itself is a very warm one! This lady would go the extra mile, in order to make sure your stay is a good one! Lovely Area, Lovely Woman. She made the wedding I was attending all the better with a good stay!

I arrived from Glasgow and stayed the night at Travelodge wickford branch for a night. The bed was very comfortable, pillows were soft. No job was a problem for the staff: They helped to direct me to the hotel, my sandwich was put in the fridge for me overnight and when I needed the fan in view of the weather that night, the staff was helpful. The staff who stood out on check in Sunday 1st June, is called Joanne, Kerry. She is a real professional, smiling and enthusiastic as she carried out her duties giving excellent customer care. The staff on check out, Monday 2nd also nice.

I stayed at this travelodge for business, I regularly stay at many lodges and this one is a little gem, tucked away, it was a difficult to find. I was greeted by a happy and friendly lady, who couldn’t do enough for me, which was nice, Her name was Jo. On check out I was greeted by Kerry, who also was very helpful. The room was clean and tidy. I would definitely come back. Thank you again for all you did to my stay that much better.

I’ve stayed in a lot of Travelodges around England, and I must say I’ve never been greeted by a member of staff that was so helpful and kind, thank you so much Kerry, all of the staff myself and my husband meet were all very helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The only thing that let it down is the grass needs a cut outside. Didn’t bother us too much. Will definitely return

Clean and tidy Travelodge, it’s dated and needs a refurbishment. The room was clean and the furniture was well used. More than adequate with the amount of sockets. Again the TV was on the table and not on the wall. So it would mean that we would be at an angle watching TV from the bed. Bathroom was very small and the shower curtain could have done with being changed. Overall the bathroom was very clean. Food was from the Toby Carvery next door. We didn’t use the Toby whilst we were there.

Jo, the receptionist, has been extremely helpful. I needed a desk lamp, she found me one. My hand soap in the bathroom didn't work, she sorted it. Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Travelodge, please can you put a main ceiling light back in the rooms? The tiny wall lights are not enough for anyone needing to do work in the evenings.
