A good location for Whitstable and good value but we were not told that the restaurant was only serving a very limited menue due to it closing on 4th July. Had we known we would have booked a different hotel. Comfortable room and bed though

Just want to give a big thank you to Jacob. I came to the Inn for some tea as i waited for the coach to arrive, it was quite chilly. Offered to pay but Jacob insisted me not to. Definitely coming back here next time if i got the chance. kindness warms my day

Before I go further, this review is not about the hotel or its staff, not even about the staff in the attached Beefeater restaurant, all professional and friendly. It is aimed at the company that own both hotel and restaurant, Whitbread. We booked a meal deal for three nights, as we've done for the past few years, a short break to a part of the country we love. We select the meal deal to save the hassle of deciding on where to eat every night and also, so my husband doesn't have to drive anywhere and can relax with a couple of drinks over dinner. We arrived on the Tuesday to be met with the news the restaurant has been closed since the weekend and won't re-open until tomorrow, but you can drive to our site at Herne Bay and use your voucher there or we can refund you for tonight. Not very happy, but it is what it is. On asking why it was closed, we were told that it was shortage of staff and they weren't allowed to recruit because they were closing for good at the end of July. Breakfast next day was "OK", turn up for dinner Wednesday evening to be handed a typed up piece of paper with the "reduced" menu on it, which amounted to a choice of steak or burgers for main, neither of which we would ever have chosen from the normal menu. The next night, our last night, was the same but a chicken dish had been added, thankfully. Returned home today, check the website and they are STILL offering meal deals without any indication there is anything out of the ordinary. Talking to staff, they only found out about the restaurant closing down when they read about it in the Press. It's sad, this once busy, thriving restaurant is a sad shadow of its former self, one part being completely closed off and a very depressing feel to it, we couldn't wait to eat and get out. I'll repeat though, despite everything, the staff are lovely, warm and welcoming. If the meals are an important part of your visit, don't book a meal deal, you'll be sadly disappointed.

Jacob Woods was on duty at Reception when I rang to ask if I had left an item behind. Jacob was polite and promised to look out for the item even though I said it was not valuable. Jacob more than made up for the poor breakfast and lack of service at the next door Beefeater. The Beefeater was closed except for the breakfast without fruit for cereals and, on out final day, coffee.

The reception staff here really made my visit- really friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile. The rooms are clean and tidy and had everything I needed for a 2 night stay. Theres a huge free carpark and reception is always manned. Met a few of the cleaners and although very busy always made time to smile and say hello.

Firstly....I understand the rules of supply and demand! A Saturday night in Whitstable. It was busy. It was £150 for 2 with breakfast. At a Premier Inn. A Premier Inn that has a very scruffy sign, a good supply of dead plants in the car park, plenty of healthy ****s though. The room was standard PI. Comfy bed, decent bathroom (although with no working ventilation). Mostly clean, but one of the bedside lamps clearly hadn't been dusted in weeks. No decaff coffee. Needs better soundproofing as it's pretty close to the A2 - Top Tip, ask for a room overlooking the car park if you come here. Breakfast was at the Beefeater next door - a rather dismal approach through a litter-strewn car park and generally looking rather run down. Breakfast was variable - the world's cheapest orange juice that hardly had any colour to it; cereals OK, but no bin for wrapping; hot food was better, smaller amounts were put out than in many places so the food didn't dry out and was regularly restocked; pastries OK (but no knives around, so I had to pinch one from another table); coffee machine was OK but a bit slow and there was only the one which led to queues. Only two staff on duty front of house, they worked very hard. Premier Inn - if you're going to charge premier prices, you need to up your game here. By the way, if you have mobility issues, please be aware that there's no lift and that it can be quite a walk to some rooms. Bear this in mind when booking.

We were pleased to be able to check in a little early which was appreciated after a long journey. Friendly welcome but not given any info re breakfast or check out times and had to ask about these. Clean and tidy reception area. Room was clean but a little tired looking and towel rails etc in bathroom were a little rusty. No USB ports. Great shower and very comfy huge bed! Good black out curtains Couldn’t control the heating - it had been quite a warm day and tried to turn room temperature down by controls on the wall but just kept going back to 20.5 Good location and plenty of parking Beefeater restaurant next door was understaffed and couldn’t take any walk ins at all - luckily we had booked a table for the evening but fancied lunch in prompt as well but was turned away without a booking. The food for the evening meal was delicious and good value. Breakfast was ok - there were quite a few different stations so a little disjointed to select all your different breakfast items! Lots of ripped chairs and carpeted areas and lots of areas inside looked quite fun down.

Me my family recently stayed here for the night,we had a friends party to go to.the room was clean and tidy, the hotel was pretty quite with no loud noise. The long reach beefeater next door is a nice place to eat,the service and food were good, its not the cheapest of places, but we learnt that I'd we'd had a beefeater loyalty card we would of got some money off of the bill, something to bear in mind for next time.the only thing I would say about this Premier inn is that the signage outside does look abit run down and could do with replacing, that was the only negative thing I can say really, other than that we had a good stay.

Hotel premises were fine but restaurant was very tired and needs a good face-lift. Had to eat elsewhere on the first evening as restaurant was closed which defeated the object of staying and eating onsite. Disappointing as usually Premier Inn can be so much better.
