After our stay with Dillington Estates, we were accused of our dogs scratching the outside glass on the window of the bifold doors. We had requested a partial refund from the company due to the hot tub, TV and induction hob not working properly throughout our stay and were met with a month of stress and trauma trying to resolve the issue of the scratch. This picture is not sufficient proof that OUR dogs scratched the glass and could’ve easily been caused by a wild animal such as a fox or by a previous guest. However, Dillington Estates took the security deposit from my bank account anyway and without clear confirmation. After weeks of back and forth through emails and an unwanted amount of stress, I begrudgingly settled for a refund of my security deposit and no further compensation for the issues I raised. Despite most of the house being lovely (excluding the faulty TV, hob and hot tub), this two-night weekend away was not worth the stress!

Visited the lovely Dillington House for a friend’s leaving party. Decided we’d stay overnight so we could have a couple of drinks and enjoy the event. Was a very well attended event and great to see many former colleagues. The buffet catering was great and catered for us vegans, the bar was well-manned by Leigh. Jo the manager made sure everyone was having a great time and had everything they needed. The room (room 8) in the main house overlooked the lawn and we saw a beautiful sunrise. Breakfast was great and again vegan options available. Lovely to visit Dillington House again. Now Somerset CC have decided to close it I don’t know what it’s future will be but it’s always been a place I’ve loved to visit and I hope it will still be possible to do so again. Best wishes to all the hard-working Dillington House staff whatever their futures will be.

Had a amazing overnight stay at Dillington so we could attend a jazz concert on the Sunday morning. It's a beautiful Grade II listed house set in stunning gardens and location. The surrounding Somerset countryside is gorgeous too. Friendly atmosphere and staff service was excellent, especially Cathy, the receptionist who gave us a very warm welcome on arrival. We stayed in the Hyde, in fabulous complex of modern rooms a couple of minutes walk from main house. It was great. Very spacious room with super comfy king sized bed, a huge wet room with great shower. Quiet with regulated heat/air con. We didn't have much of a view as we were given the last room available. Worth asking for one with view over Somerset countryside. Three course meal in the wonderful dining room was great value for money and staff service was excellent. Bar service great too. Breakfast was served in the main house. We were given a huge choice from yoghurts, fruit, pastries to a full-on traditional cooked meal. Worth checking if there are any events booked for the evenings you want to stay. There was a family celebration on the night we booked with a disco. So we were moved from the main house to the Hyde that afternoon - so glad the receptionist picked up on this. Thanks Cathy for your help. You deserve Employee of the Month!

Shocking. Booked months ago. My Mother, Aunt and Uncle were not allowed to purchase drinks in the bar as there was a wedding on. They were not informed of this in advanced as they would have took their own drinks. Then when they left they were all overcharged for the rooms. 3 rooms. Emailed to complain in August and have still not had a response or a refund. Bad practice.

If I could have given Dillington ten starts I would gave done so. My daughter and her fiance chose Dillington to host their recent wedding. The house is beautiful, nestling in its own extensive, well kept grounds and its appearance as a large country mansion is stunning. The choice offered to them for the ceremony was either outside in the grounds, or in the beautiful orangery. They chose the latter because of the unsettled weather. The reception room was beautifully decorated, but not overdone, leaving room on the tables for their extra touches. We were surrounded by some historical antiques portraits on the wall, giving the impression of dining in a grand baronial hall Also, as far as wedding venues go, the prices were very reasonable compared with other venues that had fewer facilities. As you enter the main house, there is a grand fireplace in the centre of the great entrance hall, that has a real log fire, I believe, in the winter, as a central focus. Charlotte, the wedding coordinator there, deserves special mention. Always smiling, always so accommodating and so pleasant, efficient and professional, nothing 3was too much trouble for her. Before the wedding, communication will was excellent and during the weekend she was always on hand. The staff were a delight, from the night watchman to the waiters, from the receptionist to the domestic staff. They were hard working yet unobtrusive, and always pleasant, well mannered and friendly. The food was impeccably cooked and delicious. Breakfasts were full English with a superb choice, the hot food hot and well cooked, and the bread, pastries and so on tasted if they were home made from the best ingredients. The wedding "breakfast" food was delicious, of high quality, and specially commented on very favourably by the guests. We stayed two nights over the weekend. The bedroom was clean, well furnished and very comfortable. There were nice touches too like a decent size en suite bathroom, tea, coffee and biscuits in the rooms as well as a bottle of local spring water for each guest, replaced daily. Rooms are split between the main house and the mews building nearby. Rooms there are wheelchair friendly. There is ample parking. It was simply a wonderful weekend Would I recommend Dillington as a wedding venue? Absolutely. It was simply a lovely experience.

Room decor in The Mews was quite tired. The loo was not clean and though the sheets had been laundered they had distinctly visible blood stains on them. The door was badly adjusted so it was virtually impossible to close it without it slamming. The reception staff need further training so that they don't continue to work on their screens when customers are waiting.

This is a beautiful place tucked away in the woods but such an impressive building when when you reach the driveway. It is well used for adult learning and such a peaceful place. We stayed overnight at the hotel and it was nice to have breakfast in the library. Receptionist was friendly on both days and arranged for bag to be sent to our room. Will recommend to anybody in the area

we attended a murder mystery dinner. The hotel is absolutely fantastic. lovely roaring fire in a beautiful fireplace. Our room was excellent. The murder mystery was super fun. The staff were pleasant. I'm surprised that they managed such a large group and the meals were still hot when they came out. Staff really were fabulous and friendly. I can't believe that I've never been here before. I will certainly keep an eye out for future events
