The hotel is only about a 15-minute walk from the city center. We arrived in the morning and the landlord asked us to put down our business first, which was very nice.

This is a horrible hotel. Do not stay here. They fo NOT have a shuttle. They call a taxi for you to the airport despite the description indicating a free shuttle. When asked about the inaccurate description the manager just shrugged. There is also an odd smell to the room. It seems to be an Airbnb or timeshare as well as a “hotel”.

This place is weird in a creepy kind of way. Nobody is allowed to check in before 4:00pm, you have to line up outside the front door and then go upstairs to the owners office one at a time. Wonder what happens if it's pouring with rain? His office (kitchen table) is in chaos with hundreds of visa bills everywhere. No nice welcome,he's all business, just wants to take your money including a mysterious $200 charge for "incidentals". The "incedentals" are fines. Inside the room a long list of fines was posted in BRIGHT RED and BLACK BOLD print! $30 if you lose the $2 key. $30 if you exceed 3GB download on the "free internet", $30 if you leave a stain on a towel! etc. etc. The room was large and fairly well appointed but extremely hot and stuffy with poor ventilation. Even worse, the matress had a plastic matress protector installed under the sheet so you are in for a hot and sweaty night sleeping on plastic. Not comfortable at all. The rooms have no sound proofing. Two guests checked in to the room next door at 2:00am but did not go to bed, spending the next 4 hours chatting loudly. We got no sleep that night. This place is one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. We were happy to leave. Definitely not recommended. Read all the other negative reviews. Avoid this one and go elsewhere.

This "Inn" is a mixed bag. Some cleanliness, some filth. Some furnishings in good shape, some not. Exterior presents well but there is clutter/junk near the parking area. Good location if you wish to walk to downtown. We booked four nights, stayed three and left a day early as our room would not cool down and we didn't feel comfortable for various reasons. We slept without using sheets to try to stay cool. Room was like a sauna, located on upper floor where the heat rose to the top. There are cooking odors from, apparently, the manager's family that lives in this building as well. Check-in was weird -all I can say- starting with knocking on doors to find help (at 7pm?) after making our way into the facility, leading to an Ipad acknowledgment from the manager and then switching to a kitchen table that was cluttered with real estate signs and paperwork to make payment and get my receipt. We were woken at 5am each morning by airport departing flights. We were woken at 2am the second morning by a loud, intense fight/argument between two females from either the Inn or just outside. Our room was the "Victorian" and it had no relationship to any theme; was just plain jane. Several interesting rules re: removing shoes in entryway (that was cluttered, beat-up, and smelly), internet usage, and fees for one violation or another. There was no "staff" per se. There was no room service, but wouldn't have wanted any because it was apparent it wouldn't do any good to use it. We should have read the one or two star Google reviews that called-out the cooking odors, strange rules, and other problems before booking. The poor reviews are accurate.

Terrible experience! The suite was ready late from the agreed booking time. When we checked in we were getting settled and someone walked into the suite from a locked to us door in the hallway. When I asked her who she was and what she was doing she did not answer, just closed the door while I said I am not comfortable with this. We looked at moving but were unable to find any available accommodations for a family our size on short notice. The host explained that it was the laundry room and the individual was trying to access a shortcut out of the laundry room to the house. The suite was dirty with stains on the beds, ceiling and carpets, with a musty smell. The suite was in poor repair with a list of posted rules to follow. There were belongings under the bed and in the drawers from previous guests. Soon we realized the rest of the house was set up as a hostel type rental situation with many people coming and going. I was unable to sleep, knowing that anyone could access our suite from the laundry room with our children sleeping there. Our suite was an after thought with a flimsy added door that had a 6” gap from the floor allowing us to hear every coming and going. We chose to cancel our last night, giving four days notice. The cancellation policy on the booking ap we used listed a partial refund. The host refused and told us to take it up with the ap. This accommodation charged premium rates for a horrible experience. Stay anywhere but here.

Avoid the Midnight Sun Inn... they are thieves! Made reservations at the Midnight Sun Inn of Whitehorse, YT, Canada, many weeks in advance, paying by using Scorecard Rewards points. The room we booked was: "Deluxe Room, 1 QUEEN Bed, soundproofed room." My wife & I were driving over 4,500 miles to get home to Alaska, using a borrowed cell phone that won't work in Canada. (We don't smoke, nor do we have pets.) We arrived on time, on March 24, 2023, only to be told our reserved room was NOT going to be made available to us. The man at the Midnight Sun Inn told us he could "upgrade" us to another room which we learned would have TWIN Beds, down the street at another location. We immediately asked for a refund of our rewards points! He insisted that we call (Scorecard Rewards) and he promised that he'd provide a full refund. We spent the rest of that evening trying to find a room, elsewhere in Whitehorse, with a mattress made for two normal-size people. It cost us $244.80 CAD to get such a room elsewhere. It was a few days later before we could make it home. Upon arriving home, we unpacked the car, locating our Scorecard Rewards documents. We called Scorecard Rewards to see if Midnight Sun Inn had refunded our points. They had not, so the nice lady called them to get the refund approved. She told us that Midnight Sun Inn refused to provide the refund, saying it was "too late." RECAP: We paid for a room with a QUEEN bed. Midnight Sun Inn failed to provide this service. Midnight Sun Inn asked that the travelers (us) needed to make a long-distance call (Canada to USA), to get the points refunded; something that was NOT POSSIBLE for us until a few days later. Days later, when we COULD make this phone call, Midnight Sun Inn refused to grant a refund for the service that they did not provide. They claimed it was "too late" to ask for a refund. They are thieves! They've earned every bit of this BAD ADVERTISING. Avoid the Midnight Sun Inn.

The description provided by the owner of the "inn" is very enthusiastic ha ha. What they call an inn seems to be 2 or more townhouses close to downtown Whitehorse. We received a "free upgrade" to a newer townhouse that had 4 guest rooms which shared a common kitchen and living area. The townhouse was pretty new and very clean. The walls between rooms were a bit thin and you could hear voices through the wall. It was hot in the room even with the window open. Towels and ensuite bathroom were good. We stayed one night but where we were seemed newer and nicer than original "inn" where you check in. It would be great if you wanted to make your own meals, do laundry, all within walking distance of downtown. The townhouse we were in was in a residential area, but again close to downtown. I can't comment on the location closer to downtown as we didn't stay there. But it seemed to be the same setup... shared kitchen with individual rooms in a house/townhouse. I'm glad we were given a room in the newer location. It was newer, nicer, and a more modern feel to it.

Despite the name, what's on offer is not an "Inn". It's not, as the ********** website says, "A hotel with five rooms". That site lists lots of amenities which make it sound like a proper hotel: a garden, a terrace, a library, a front desk staff 24 hours a day, free newspapers in the lobby, linen service, a dedicated courtesy shuttle to the airport, even bath robes. But not of those things actually exist. Instead of an "Inn", what you really get is a bedroom-plus-en-suite in a shared accommodation. Namely, a shared townhouse at the extreme edge of town. Some people like sharing a house with others. In fact, I'm okay with it. I just don't like being lied to about what I'm getting, and overpaying based on what the website tells me I am contracting for. To top it off, when I complained about the false advertising, instead of any kind of compensation, the manager's "generous offer" was to let me check out after the first night!

This facility has a very good location-short walk to many restaurants and shops in Whitehorse. Since there is no reception, you can find a phone number of the owner on front door. Guy is responsive. I have small, but clean room.
