Seacrest Guest House Room Only

I went to Whitby for a short break and had a wonderful stay at the Seacrest Guesthouse. The hosts Allison and Andy were fantastic and I stayed in a nice and comfortable room with a beautiful view of Whitby Abbey. The Seacrest Gueshouse is situated in a great location for many of the sites in Whitby such as the beach and Whalebone Arch, which are just a few minutes’ walk. If I get another opportunity to come to Whitby I would love to stay here again.

I will start by saying that I strongly advise you to read reviews on Booking and the owner's replies. Enjoy! This is my EDITED booking review: The location is the biggest advantage of this place. The owners are extremely polite (that changed after I read their response). The fresh bedding is very clean. I feel guilty for what I have to write in the negative part because the owners were very nice, but I want to be honest. What I did not like? First of all, it is clear that the facility requires a major renovation. This place is definitely NOT 4 stars. I don't know how it is possible that on Booking the place has 4 stars. Our room was livable, but the space between the passage to the rest of the room and the bed was so narrow that a suitcase could not pass through. Additionally, for the same price (in the same period) in Llalundno we had a room of several standards better and with breakfast. I understand that the owners do not offer breakfast for private reasons, but this room could be adapted into a kitchen for guests, where they can at least prepare a sandwich themselves. I didn't understand the idea of the owner cleaning the rooms daily. There was no sign to hang that we didn't want cleaning. Apart from that, cleaning consisted of her vacuuming a patch of the floor (most of it was taken up by our suitcase), taking out the trash and straightening the bedding. Yes, straightened up only. I stained it with chocolate, it was not changed until the end of the stay, and neither did the towels. This is my subjective opinion but I did not feel comfortable there knowing that the owner enters the room every day. The sheets were clean but the shower was not cleaned in a few places. The roof window is very neglected (especially visible when opened). I let them know that the toilet flush was leaking and the owner said it was normal. It is not for me but okay. The owner replied to my review with very low and ridiculous words. One of their accusations was that we were problematic Europeans. They could not write that we are Poles, because that would be r4c1st ;) News for you, as British you are ALSO Europeans :)

We had absolutely amazing , romantic weekend at Seacrest Guest house. It is lovely place to stay and owners are friendly and great to talk with(any recommendations, any advice-they are willing to help). They working very hard , many years , and despite all costs, economic crisis, lockdown-they are still smiling and looking after their guests. I don't know from where negative reviews coming, but I am sure is from people who paying for weekend and expect luxury , and complain about everything. "Too small tv"-sorry we not coming for break to be watching TV or all the time be connected to Internet... Get a grip , people. And if is something what is wrong and can be fixed-tell owners instead of slagging them.They are not robots, and honestly £170for 2night stay at summer season in Whitby is amazing price for what they offer. It is cosy, comfy, clean and great located Guest house. If you are bot happy they don't do breakfast-they are more than happy to recommended any places nearby! Support locals. Top notch. This is a good Whitby guest house. No nonsense....no messing. Friendly down to earth excellent place. Pet friendly.....excellent communication. Superb. If you are booking via *********** send them a message if you are bringing a dog as they need to know. Excellent all round.

Reading the reviews is sounded lovely. the room was poorly maintained, the blinds at the window one of the vanes was missing another had the weight ripped. The TV remote had no back on it so had to hold the batteries in. The hinge on the wardrobe was broken, the sink in the ensuite was coming off the wall so was the towel rail, the bottom runner on the shower was off. The shower was poor I would have got wetter with a child's watering can. The Wi-Fi was almost none existant had to use my own data. The table by the fire in the breakfast room made me sea sick it was that wobbly, all it needed was the bolts tightening. They had a dog in the room next to the breakfast room jumping at the window, in what I presume is their living quarters and where breakfast was being prepared. The breakfast was good, didn't find any dog hairs. Needless to say I won't be going back.

I have stayed at the Seacrest a few times in the past and as always, it was a pleasant and friendly stay as always everywhere is clean and the owners Andy & Alli were amazing host. I will always use this by the breakfast one in North Yorkshire very cheap deal and wonderful place to visit.

Stayed at this appalling so called Guest House they say 4 stars, they are self awarded stars, look at their sign outside on the wall they have no stars. They advertise 4 stars, please take note Trading Standards Horrendous food they call breakfast, Look at their reviews AVOID AVOID AVOID

A lovely bed and breakfast hotel and would stay again , very good location and nice and quiet , we had our dog Reggie with us and he loved it , stayed in room 7 at the top so you after be fit lol climbing the steps , breakfast was very nice and plenty , a lovely couple and would deffo go again 👍👍👍

We visited Seacrest for a 3 night stay recently as a couple. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Great hosts and a fabulous breakfast provided. The bed was so clean and comfy. Our room was on the top floor with 49 stairs to it but that can't be helped. The b and b is very central to the town centre and we had a lovely stay. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
