Never stayed at a b&b group hotel before and the room in this brand new hotel was nice; compact but nothing missing. We even got a lovely view over the river. Arrived before the hordes of contractor vans so parking was easy and free, think if you show up at six mon-thu you’d struggle to get a space. However, the notable thing was the stupid Checkin system. Booked via their website and did everything asked, paid, registered, the lot. It said it would then email us Checkin details. Which, by the time we arrived at 3pm to the hotel, hadn’t arrived. The nice girl on reception checked us in (again) and asked us to pay (again). I took a bit of an exception to this, having already pre-paid for the stay directly with b&b. Manager appears, presses buttons on his computer for a bit and tells me we will have to pay again then they can refund us once they’ve worked out how their systems worked. I politely declined his offer, reasoning that I’d no confidence in getting my money back if they’d screwed up the first payment. Eventually, maybe because I dug my heels in like a mule, we got the room and didn’t have to pay again. Clearly some issue between training and their systems, but for a first time visit, it didn’t entice me to book again, which I haven’t - I would try again as the room was ok and the price good.
