This was the first safari for our family of 5 and it was a truly wonderful experience. When you first arrive you are greeted by the staff & shown to your accommodation. It is winter here so the heating was on & electric blankets on the beds. The lodges are stunning and such fun! We did 2 safaris each day - one at 7am and one at 3pm. A light breakfast is served before the morning one followed by a cooked breakfast on your return. Lunch is served then out on the afternoon drive with dinner as soon as you return. The food is very good - and plentiful! Our ranger was Corlea - she was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and we saw elephants, giraffes, rhino, lions & lionesses. It was absolutely unreal. Being our first safari we didn’t know the difference between a private reserve and a national park and now are so glad we chose the private reserve. The rangers are so respectful of the animals, don’t crowd them & spend lots of time with the engine off just quietly observing. It got extremely cold at night and in the early morning so bring lots of layers, warm socks etc. We don’t hesitate in recommending Hlosi and can’t wait to return.
