Hlosi Game Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve

I purchased a travel voucher on a whim to stay at Hlosi Lodge and I am so happy that I did. It brought me to South Africa and an amazing trip of a lifetime. I spent 5 nights at the lodge doing two game drives as day as the regular programming + some extra activities I booked. We saw all of the Big 5 multiple times though every drive was different and special :) I never got tired of going out and I had an amazing guide Corlea (so sorry if I got spelling wrong). She took me out on a special bird drive, found us a rare hyena sighting and we followed along with cheetahs as they hunted. We were able to see so much and she also is just a great person to get to spend time with. The acommodations at Hlosi were so nice and private. I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms rather than the tented suite and I had a huge and comfortable king bed with heating pads the staff would come in and turn on before I got back from a game drive in the evening. I had a nice seating area, a mini bar even and then a private deck where I just sat so many afternoons and watched birds and all the wildlife that would come through. Lls The meals were all incredibly high quality and there were many options. All the staff was there to make sure you had a great time.

Hlsoi Game Lodge was a big treat for us as South Africans. Monique as hostess and manager runs a tight ship, with friendly staff and great service. Would definitley recommend. Thank you Monique and team.

Hlosi was a wonderful place to visit. The whole experience was amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The central lodge is great. Our guide Corlea was outstanding. Her knowledge and ease of communicating was great. Her ability to anticipate the moves of the animals was uncanny. Her driving was incredible. Just couldn’t rate her more highly. The only negative was the cold. We had opted for a tented lodge. On the windy night it was bitterly cold. We weren’t expecting it to be so bitter.

An incredible experience! The lodge is a beautiful building in some of the most incredible wilderness you will ever see. We had the chance to see over 40 different species while out on safari with our fantastic ranger, Kotaza. The food and service at the lodge were consistently exceptional, and we were made to feel like VIP's for every minute of our stay. Lastly, seeing elephants up close was a transcendant and beautiful experience.

We had an amazing trip and safari at the Hlosi Lodge on the Amakhala Game Reserve! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding! Elvis and all of the service staff were attentive to meeting our every need. K was our safari ranger. He has a degree in conservation and made our trips both educational and fun! We saw elephants, lions, cheetahs, rhinos and more. We also had great massages with Zenilla. Our luxury suite was very nice. From start to finish this was an amazing experience. Great value for the money. Highly recommend!!!
