My husband and I had a fabulous night at Daltons on Banana Island! The boat that ferried us across was complimentary and while the waters were choppy, we felt perfectly safe. Dress appropriately as your clothing will likely get wet! Daltons is rustic and simple. The room was clean and perfectly adequate. The meals were simple but tasty. We took a tour of the Island and learned about the Portuguese and British use of the Island as a slaves holding station prior to the middle passage. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Daltons and will go again, when are travels take us to Salone. Thank you!

I enjoyed my stay at Dalton's Guesthouse. It was both a nice location to just rest and relax as well as to do some snorkeling and hiking on the island. They arranged some good enough vegetarian options (evidently you will have much wider and better options if you are a pescatarian). They offer several activities, I took the snorkeling boat tour which was enjoyable (saw at least a dozen species and you can swim safely here heeding to the advice of the staff unlike in most of West Africa). The hiking trail across the island was enjoyable. As on many places, there is unfortunately much garbage arriving with the tides drifting in towards land but the guest house beach is clean. Be aware that the boat is simpler and you may have some water splash (cover sensitive items in waterproof bag/water protective), this is also the standard in this price range in the region. They can also help to arrange connections to Freetown or the border at a fair negotiated price. All in all this was a very good value for money. I paid less for two nights here including boat transfer, breakfast and dinner than I would for one night at a mid-range hotel in Freetown. If you are OK with a more basic hostel standard this is a very good option. There is no AC but there was a reasonable electricity (lightbulb), running water and a mosquito net (saw none during my stay). The standard is more or less what you can expect in rural Sierra Leone or Liberia outside the main cities.

Just a handful of Bungalows on a pristine secluded beach on an island. Imagine yourself and maybe a few others in paradise. While the place is simple, rustic and very small, it has everything from a delicious seafood restaurant to activities including hiking in the forest, fishing trips, snorkeling, etc...if you looking for a place away from the noise and distractions of every day life on a remote beach this is it. I had a great time and hope to visit soon again. Be sure to try the crayfish so flavorful and yummy

The best little resort in Sierra Leone and probably the nicest feeling in any place in West Africa so far. It is simple, but to the point. The a**osphere was so calm and inviting. No B*****, no fake attempts for luxury, just natural environment well kept, very friendly staff and a lot of help to explore the island. The majestic point was the trip to Turtle Islands and the whale watching of the humpbacks’ migration with the young ones. Also, very good snorkeling and I guess so many other leisure activities offered, but we needed more time…Have we mentioned the food? Then we leave one surprise to discover (only hint is that the fish is daily speared by the team of the resort for you)! Thanks to the manager Mr. Sheriff and his lovely team. We hope we can come back.

The staff at Dalton’s Guest House was very helpful and friendly. The facility was very comfortable and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet pocket of the island, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The piecing is very affordable and fair and the views are definitely worth it.

We spent the weekend at Daltons on Banana Island and enjoyed the peace and quietness away from noisy, busy and dusty Freetown. On Banana Island there are no cars, no Kekes, no Okadas, no loudspeakers.... Heaven! And there is always a breeze from the ocean, so you don't need AC!

This is the best holiday resort in Sierra Leone, despite the cheap rooms tag. If you are looking for an exciting destination with variety in activities during your holidays, then Banana Island is your place. The staff are focused to get you the best experience whether you just chill out at the beach, or ocean view canopy, or take on scuba, windsurfing, snorkeling, fishing, SUP, kayaking, forest hikes, (even historical tours about the slavery times!) and frankly a few more I can’t remember… The fresh fish is caught by spearfishing from the staff the same day, so you see what you will eat. The rooms are basic, but clean with 24h electricity and cooled with ceiling fans. Some other guests took more adventurous activities like Turtle islands excursions and whale watching, but our time was limited unfortunately. Plan to spend more days at the beautiful Banana Island.
