This is my favorite place to stay in West Yellowstone for a lot of reasons.
They used to have a historian named Paul at check in, and it’s too bad he’s not there anymore, but everyone moves on eventually I guess.
The hotel is historic, and if you understand the history it’s really cool. If you don’t, the many taxidermy critters, heated garage, grand staircase, fireplace game room with a grand piano, and more will be to your liking. However, if you are looking for modern amenities (high water pressure, uncramped bathrooms, etc) you won’t find it in an 1800s era hotel. But really, who goes to West Yellowstone for that?
