After using Hampton Inn exclusively as our hotel of choice up and down the east coast for the past 11 years we were very disappointed with this particular one. It was in a very unattractive and un-touristy part of the Cape. In addition the basic necessities you'd come to expect when you pay $400/night weren't there-free Wifi was advertised but when we tried to access it it was $2.99/day, the hall carpet and hallway walls appeared dirty, and I was disappointed that there was no pad and pen in the room (I collect these at hotels :). There was one very disturbing aspect at this hotel. When we checked in the clerk at the front desk asked for a credit card even though I'd paid the hotel costs in full 5 months previous. But I understood as this is a common practice for incidentals. I handed over my bank account Mastercard, the same card I used to pay for the hotel. I haven't used this card since paying for our trip in February 5 months previous as we acquired a new bank credit card in which we earn money back that we use exclusively for purchases. The clerk had my card behind the counter, out of my sight, for a minute or so and handed it back. I put it away in my wallet and didn't use it again yet the day after we returned home we had a $264 online charge to Wayfair (we do not shop at Wayfair) which was made with my bank account Mastercard. Naturally we called our bank and spoke with the Fraud Unit who covered the $264, canceled our card, and opened an investigation. I contacted the Hampton Inn Complaint Line number and was told they would relay the information to the W Yarmouth Hampton Inn who would contact me within 48 hours. I haven't heard from them. Moral of this story? First off, we will never stay on the bay side of the Cape again. In addition, due to Hampton Inn's lack of attentiveness to this situation we will not use them again for our hotel needs.

My sister and I checked in and got a room all the way at the end of the parking lot where there were not many people. Our room was 62. When we got to our room, there was an ederly man sitting outside on a chair. Our room was right next to his. He started to make small talk right away. As we were unloading our car every time we came and went he would talk more and more. He started to tell us he goes to Hunters Green every week Sunday to Friday. He said he pays CASH every week because he doesn't use credit cards, debit cards or even a phone. We were politely acknowleging him but not really engaging. He then said he was a retired cop. He then told us the previous owners of the motel had a son who killed his father and buried him under the shuffle board game there. That was it for us. We started to walk to the front desk to complan., we remembered we forgot something and turned around to go back to the room We caught this man looking in our car windows!!! So, we went to the front desk to complain and from the front desk, I could see he was back looking in my car windows. The gal at the front desk called management immediately and they spoke with us and he said he was sending over a manager to handle this. Well, the so called manager really didn't react to what was going on. He offered us a room at a sister motel. He seemed to just dismiss everything we were telling jhim. He said he had nothing to say until he learned the ”particulars”. I'm like well we are giviing you the particulars right now. In the mean time the creep got in his car and left the parking lot. My sister and I rushed to pack up our car while the creep was gone. However he came back and when saw us packing out car, he did a fast uturn and drove to the other end of the parking lot and parked his car and watched us. I don't know what this guys problem was. It seemed like the manager knew who he was because he walked right up to his car and started talking with him. This was after the creep parked his car up front and was watching us. I don't like the way management was so layed back about this guy. And, who excepts CASH at a motel? Isn't that not allowed??? I'm trying to find out who the owners are of this motel as I would like to know what they are doing about this creep. BTW-Our room smelled like mold, as the air conditioners looked like they have not been cleaned or dusting for 45 years. Buyer be ware, if this creep is really staying there every week Sunday through Friday, you should have your guard up. PS: It was the manager that was unprofessional not the nice gal who first handled things for us.

The tourist season is full of rooms, and the front desk lady looks tired enough. There are not many breakfast options, after all, it is free and there is no high expectations. It is very convenient around.

Bayside Resort Hotel

We happened upon Bayside online last year as we were looking to have finally have a short getaway with our kids for April vacation. We have been going regularly to the cape (PTown) since the kids were born. What a pleasant surprise! Bayside was a great location. It was off season, so the indoor pool and jacuzzi were perfect. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a spectacular view. The fire pit at night with s’mores was a highlight and we interacted with some lovely people. The staff were great. The pub was fun and had good food options for kids when we weren’t going out to a restaurant. Sitting on the marsh beach on the bay was beautiful. We saw the Osprey couple and the majestic bald eagle. The breakfast was terrific. Above and beyond continental. The game room and workout room were added bonuses. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was that our 10 year old was not allowed in the hot tub. Even though the pool is heated, you can get cold. I understand the liability because some parents don’t adhere to guidelines for hot tubs for kids. We’d just like our now 11 year old to be able to warm up a bit for a short time. Regardless, we are headed back this year in just a couple of weeks and can’t wait! Highly recommend Bayside!
Days Inn by Wyndham West Yarmouth/Hyannis Cape Cod Area

We were very happy with our four night stay here at this family friendly budget/mid-priced motel. We stayed in room 137 on the second floor and it was quiet and pleasant. The room has recently been updated with all new furnishings and appliances. They’ve even got the fancy, modern head boards for the beds (Which were very comfy!) The kind young gentleman who checked us in made us feel very welcome, and he even gave us a free upgrade to a better room with a brand new refrigerator (which we weren’t expecting, so it was a lovely surprise to have a fridge for our 4 night stay). There’s a large indoor pool that looks really nice, and a little quiet area in the back with picnic tables. It's the perfect place to stay for families traveling on a budget. Clean, quiet and safe. We’ll be back next year! 😊

The room was clean and pleasant. The appearance of the property was satisfactory. The service was great and the manager was very helpful and willing to credit us one night when we had to check out earlier than expected. I would stay there again.
