Our stay was fantastic, all we had been led to believe by family who have stayed with you previously. We had both (mainly my wife) had very stressful weeks and this was exactly what she needed to de stress. Staff where very friendly and efficient, without being pushy. Food in the restaurant and the advice on food and wine where spot on. Breakfast was superb.

We had been given a gift voucher to stay at the WH, we decided to opt for the one day gourmet package, and what a lovely experience, with a warm friendly welcome and that personal touch its a day I’ll never forget. You can see all the staff have a passion for making you’re stay as comfortable as possible, we stayed in Chocolate Heaven ( a room for chocolate lovers ) with all things chocolate the room has a lovely atmosphere, and hidden chocolate for you to indulge, the food was delicious and well presented, and if you love your wine, just ask Vincent for his advice and recommendation, can’t praise this place enough and one we will visit again.

We stayed in the four poster room for our 2nd wedding anniversary which was really lovely and the decor and little extra’s, ie sherry, sweets, anniversary card and ballon made it extra special! The food and the service was excellent! Thank you so much we had the best time.

Our first stay but we will be back. Wonderful food and fabulous staff. Felt welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived. Only one small gripe….an earlier access to the room would be welcomed…even if there was a small extra cost. Thanks again and we will see you soon.

I came here with my hubby for the first time for lunch as we have been wanting to visit for a while but haven’t had the chance until now. Professional & friendly stuff in beautiful surroundings. Chose the 3 course lunch menu. Beautifully presented & delicious food. We had just ‘out of the oven’ homemade bread & butter… very flavoursome. The photos are our starters & dessert… we started eating our pork & seabass dishes straightaway as they looked devine & the aroma was irresistible..sorry We had 2 sides which were heavenly especially the cauliflower bites. We had a round of drinks & then opted for a caraf of their recommended wine which was delightful. Thankyou so much

From stylish, individually themed rooms to a friendly and professional team who provide wonderful food and service. Lovely village location for exploring North Yorkshire and beyond. The Heiffer has to be our favourite home away from home.

We have been to The Heifer many times over the past 17 years and every time it just gets better and better. The eye to detail is second to none. We came last night for a spring getaway and stayed in The Champagne room. The room was beautifully decorated with lots of little treats, a very clean and comfortable room. Dinner as always was just superb, The Fish Pakora is always lovely and The Maple Lobster Salad is just something else. We were there for lunch 2 weeks ago and had the most incredible dessert and mentioned it to The restaurant manager, he made a note of it and there was 2 made for us for dessert last night, the perfect end to the meal. My son had rang and ordered a bottle of wine for us and he said the young man who had dealt with him over the phone was a lovely professional person. Breakfast this morning was delicious, we can’t wait to come back again and spend time in our favourite hotel and restaurant
