Summit Newa Regency

One of the worst hotels to stay in Pelling. I have stayed in multiple hotels of the Summit hotel chain, like Summit in Gangtok and Darjeeling, but found this one to be the worst. I booked the hotel just by its name, but I was wrong. There was no exhaust in the bathroom. The tiles were broken. The condition of the double bed was very poor. There were insects all around the property. A lot of dust was on the tables and lamps. There were stains on the curtains and the bedsheets. The sofa set was very dirty. It was my worst decision to stay in this hotel. I asked for a refund, and they shifted us to more than 2 rooms, but the condition of all the rooms was very bad. Finally, they told me they would provide a refund for one day, and we had to stay in the hotel for one day. They provided us with a family room with twin beds. On the second day, I left the hotel, and they refunded the payment for one day. I called the Summit customer care staff regarding this issue, but every time she told me to give her some time, they were looking into the issue. She was not responding properly and was very rude at the same time. I would like to request Summit Hotels to kindly renovate this property as it is a very old property. I would also say that no one should book this property for Pelling as its cost is high compared to other hotels, which provide much better facilities. If someone still wants to book this hotel, they should book the family room with twin beds, as this was in better condition compared to the other rooms (although the charging port was not working in this room as well). I must say all the hotel staff at Summit Newa Regency were good and polite all the time. They tried to support as much as possible from their side, so I want to thank all the staff for their kind behavior. But if the condition of the property is that bad, what can the staff do? I clicked more than 50 photographs of different rooms to send to Summit Hotels customer care and Yatra customer care, as I booked the room through the Yatra app. For further reference, I am adding all the photographs that I clicked. Kindly check below for the photographs. Note: We have booked 2 Premium rooms with Breakfast and Balcony and were 4 persons.

It is an old property which is not maintained well at all. For service, if i could give negative i would have rated it negative. It has been the worst experience ever. They do not have enough people to cater to basic needs. There was an electricity issue at night, no generator was switched on and for almost 3-4 hrs there was no electricity at night which made difficult to sleep n use washroom in dark. There is no response from the staff. For everything asked, they only one reply i.e., NO. We had to wait for hrs for table cleaning while having breakfast. In all worst hospitality service experience ever.

Our stay at Summit Newa Regency & Spa was simply perfect. The views of Kanchenjunga from our room balcony were breathtaking. The food- right from Norh Indian to Chinese, was amazing. All the staff were courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Pelling.

Stayed here for only 1 night. Booked a family room for 4. Property is old but well maintained. Staff is very helpful and smiling. The best is the sunrise view in the morning at around 5 am from their common terrace where you get a great view of Kanchanganga. Worth experiencing it. The options for dinner and breakfast were also good. Overall a good stay.

Had a great stay at this property. Rooms were spacious and clean. We had booked a package including breakfast and dinner. Food was good and their service was excellent. Staff was very friendly and polite Great hospitality and warm welcome.

Old & Lousy property! It a roadside lodge priced for a 3 star hotel. I recently was forced to stay here because of a crazy Make My Trip package. The front desk staff at Summit Newa hotel were unprofessional, lacked basic grooming (The front desk guy was stinking as if he did not have a bath since a month), and were far from hospitable. I was uncomfortable even raising the issue with them, as their demeanor was concerning. It felt unsafe to argue, especially with my family present. This hotel is of extremely poor quality. It resembled an old, poorly maintained lodge with significant issues like: A pervasive stench of fungus in the room Lack of proper ventilation Mosquito infestation Faulty electrical and bath fittings The staff is super lazy. There are other wonderful hotels in Pelling. Choose this property if you are low on budget. Not suitable for family.
