Charming, atmospheric, fantastic value, cleanliness, fabulous breakfast. Great location to visit retail centres and picture postcard local walks! I cannot praise the staff there who are so welcoming and helpful! This is and will continue to be my “ go to hotel” when I visit the area!

We booked a nights stay to break our journey from Devon to Gatwick Airport for a holiday. We like the chain Charming Bedrooms and have stayed in a few now. Attractive village and nice pub with purpose built rooms/pods at age back. Very comfy room with everything you need and good toiletries too. We had a great night. We lived the free drink on arrival. My only criticism was what was printed in the room about breakfast. It did not match what we were told when we got to breakfast. It was a bit confusing and doesn't seem to follow suit at their other pubs. However breakfast was very good all the same, just hard know what is an offer or what us included in a fixed price.

Brilliant pub with tasteful guest rooms, in a beautiful setting. There's nothing they haven't thought of in the rooms - fridge, coffee machine, ironing board - even a wireless charger!!! Yvonne was very helpful and was fantastic at breakfast

We had the best stay at The Thomas Lord! We had some car problems which made us arrive very late. They did everything to make us feel welcome! A very big thank you to Kevin, Yvonne and the team. If we could give you 7 out of 5 stars we would! There is also a great trail nearby, perfect for people who like to hike!

We had a lovely one night stay at the Thomas Lord. The room was amazing it had everything and more. Check in was quick and the staff are so friendly. We also had an evening meal which I can highly recommend. I cannot comment on the breakfast offerings as we left very early for Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The place is an excellent place to stay. The rooms set out in the garden, are superb, and as they say a large bed, is very true, and extremely comfortable. We ere lucky as our table and chairs outside were in the full morning sun, so we were able to take our morning tea in a great setting. Sadly though this visit was spoilt for us by the evening menu on Thursdays. Burgers or burgers and not cheap, it is also worth while reading the very small and faint printing at the bottom of the menu in regard to tipping ( which due to said state of printing ) we missed. It’s tells you the a tip of 12.5% will be added to your bill as a tip, unless you state otherwise. Yes we were caught out by this. On the other hand our breakfasts could not be faulted, the were very, very good. Would we stay there again, yes! But not on a Thursday and make sure we take our readings glasses to read the menu properly.

We stayed here in February as a couple and met family for a meal. The Pub is a gorgeous, quaint and atmospheric Pub. It has a lovely fireplace which gives an ambient feel and of course set in a beautiful rural village. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, absolutely no complaints there at all. We were led to an out building/cabin. The cabin was situated in the back, surrounded by a beautiful garden, very private and secluded. We loved the cabin, it was spacious, clean and cosy with a seating area, coffee/tea and biscuits and a bathroom with a fairly powerful shower. Plus we had a nice garden view from the lounge area of the cabin which was very calming. The bed was fairly comfortable and the cabin also had an iron and ironing board. As said before, I can’t fault the staff as they were all really kind and helpful. However, the food was a little underwhelming, considering the price of items on the menu. I had duck which I found was tough and tasteless. My husband had steak and it was dry. The calamari starters were not crisp but soggy, almost like they’d been stewed in oil and not deep fried at the correct temperature. One of the desserts was cold in the middle but we were offered another dessert and this was taken off the price - thank you. I hope my personal opinion of the food isn’t taken offensively because it is only an opinion and food does vary depending on different chefs etc. Overall though, we had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again but would think twice about eating here if nothing changed in relation to the food/chef. Great service and a beautiful place to stay. Thank you to all the staff.

We. had a 3-night break with our dog to escape the. city.... accommodation was one of several separate air-conditioned cabins well back in the garden away from any noise. Facilities were clean, comfortable bed/pillows with good quality linen. Breakfast and dinner were very good, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend to friends & family.
