The Lodge Rooms

Great trip over Easter - we stayed in Bamboo Dome which the kids loved because it all looks like a jungle inside. Amazing walks in the forest and had fun around the fire pit in the evening. We also tried the cycling at Cannop - did the family trail which was quite challenging for our little ones but amazing that we all did it. A wonderful holiday!

Was very nice but wasn’t what we expected. For the price of a one night stay we were very disappointed. We expected a lodge as described but more of a b&b. We did get an upgrade due to the shower not working. The one blind you could see in through the side from outside so we just used a blanket over to give us a bit more privacy. Staff was lovely but we were disappointed and probably won’t stay again.

Lovely owner, with loads of little extra touches. A nicely planned out room. We stayed in the coal shed. It had a gorgeous bathroom and very comfortable bed. It was the perfect place for an overnight stay. Very quirky and unique. Looking around the venue we could see beautifully kept outside areas. Theres also a woodland area behind for walks. Couldn't fault it at all.

The owner stated pizza and bar would be available but they were jot. In addition there was a lot of building work happening during our stay which ruined the tranquil surroundings.

Not a hotel/a room in someone’s home. Firstly we could not find the hotel, there were no signs on the main road and when we drove down this stone lane which said foot path we come to a Grey wood hut and still no signs. When I found an open door and passed the bell and was greeted by a lady who I asked if I was in the right place. Thankfully it was and was greeted and taken to the upstairs to the room. Cobwebs and spiders everywhere in the room, shower and toilet, it’s ok if you like spiders. Has a roof Terrace which was nice and unexpected. No towels for guests. Complimentary breakfast and tea/coffee throughout the day for guests to help themselves. Overall was a nice stay but not a hotel it’s someone’s home.

We were in the shed room, it was comfortable and beautifully clean. The Lodge rooms are set in a very peaceful and quiet area in the Forest of Dean, we were made so very welcome by the owners who put everything into this wonderful set up. we were greeted by two wonderful dogs at the gate, Helen met us and showed us around. What a wonderful place
