My wife and I recently completed a glorious week at this fabulous hotel in Roatan. They have an exceptional dive outfit at the hotel called Luna divers. Lucilla and Catalina were our guides for the week, and it was 5 star all around - we literally didn’t have to do any handling of our gear, and Joel the Boat Captain is second to none. The boats were spotless. We were treated like royalty. Delicious fresh fruit skewers after each dive, great through briefings and some of the most beautiful dive sites in the world with divers who know the secrets. Not to mention a night dive with string of pearl bioluminescence that we will dream of forever. We stayed in a suite with a plunge pool on the ground floor. It was amazingly private despite its location near the pools. The room and bedding were luxurious, with WONDERFUL pillows! The room was a little short on drawer space for two people but ample for hanging clothes. There is good tech - electronic shades that let you lie in bed and watch the day emerge, smooth room lighting, good WiFi, and nice in room amenities. Ibagari has their own water taxi that will take you to West End in 2 minutes that runs until 5 pm. But getting a night water taxi back can be uncertain, although we didn’t have any trouble. The restaurant was excellent and we typically regretted it when we went somewhere else for a meal. Great fish ceviche, shrimp tacos, buffalo chicken tenders (I know that sounds weird but they are really good!) and more. This feels like more of an adult hotel, although I am sure kids would love it. The beautiful artwork throughout adds elegance and sophistication to the feel, yet it’s a casual beach hotel with its own nice beach. The long and short is, if you are going to Roatan and want to be in the best location at the best hotel, Ibagari is an easy decision. On a final note: The sand flies in Roatan can bed vicious! Use bug repellent as soon as you get near the water. Also, get to the airport a MINIMUM of 2 1/2 hours before your flight, 3 is better. The check in and security lines will surprise you with how long they take.

We arrived Saturday, April 20th, for 8 days. The Ibagari rep was at the exit door on arrival. She contacted our driver immediately. The round trip cost was around $100. Ibagari airport arrival and departure drivers were prompt, personable and drove safely. From flight arrival to Ibagari took 2 hours. Airport and roads were busy. On arrival we were greeted immediately and taken to our Suite for hotel check in. Weather was beautiful all week. We booked the Master Suite, Haiti 8. The spacious suite is located on the 3 floor. No elevator. The room was spacious with a large balcony and plenty of seating. The air conditioning in the suite worked great all week. Housekeeping overall did a good job. Missed 2 nights of turn down service. The floors were still sandy after service most days. We enjoyed the food at Luna Muna. We ate all but one breakfast and all dinners on site. The service was overall good and staff were overall friendly. We utilized the hotel’s water taxi to West Bay and West End. 5 minutes in either direction. West End: We had breakfast at Sandy Buns, lunch & cocktails at Ginger’s Caribbean Grill. Both were great! We used Arnold with Tony’s Tours for an Island Tour. Lots of fun. We went to Roatan Island Brewery, Roatan Rum, Waves of Art and Ocean View Restaurant for lunch. We saw numerous Star Fish, Hummingbirds and Macaws along the beach from Turtle Beach to the bridge. Sand flies are an issue in the area for me. I came home with 75+ bites. I took multiple bug sprays and coconut oil. The hotel does spray the sand early every morning. The hotel also provided me with additional sprays and calamine lotion. Areas of improvement: 1. Notify guest prior to arrival of large groups. We were surprised on night 3 there was a 140 guests corporate event. Unable to use Luna Muna or the bar. Hotel dinner guests were set up in front of the Library. There was no “sorry” for the inconvenience. It wasn’t until Day 6 when I was asked by a Manager how was everything. I explained our disappointment with the large corporate event and lack of prior notice. That night a lovely beach dinner was set up for us. We ordered a bottle of wine for dinner. When the wine was presented by the waiter he responded this is “complementary”. However, we were charged for the bottle of wine. 2. We tipped the drivers, AM & PM Housekeeping daily, all Breakfast & Dinner servers, all cocktail servers, water taxi driver & anyone that provided a service a cash tip after every service. We tipped anywhere from 20% to 30% depending on service. I was surprised at check out a substantial Room Gratuity fee was added to our final bill. The bill as adjusted after discussion. In the end we tipped around 40% for service. 3. The stairs at night were challenging. It was hard to see some of the stairs. Lighting on the stairs would be helpful. Roatan is a beautiful island. We hope to visit again.

I just got back to Los Angeles after my third trip to Ibagari to dive with their on-site dive shop, Duna Divers. I have traveled all over the world, both on dive trips and non-dive trips. Ibagari is one of the best boutique resorts at which I have stayed. In terms of diving, Lucila led our group of four divers. This was our group’s second time diving with Lucila and we cannot say enough good things about her. I have been diving in Galapagos, Cozumel, French Polynesia and many other places. Lucila is one of the best dive guides/dive masters I have encountered. She is careful with the group, very astutely making sure everyone is ok, that their equipment and gear are working, and that everyone is enjoying the dive. She is very fun to dive with and has a great sense of humor. Duna Diver’s manager, Axel, runs that shop like an expert. He’s very accommodating, friendly, helpful and makes sure the guests are taken care of and the operation runs smoothly. Apart from being expert divers, I told both of them that one of the things that sets them apart is their willingness to be accommodating and flexible. It makes diving with them a very enjoyable and stress-free experience. The captains of the boats were also highly skilled and professional. In terms of the Ibagari resort, it's a beautiful place with great staff. Ruth took such good care of us throughout our stay, thoughtfully ensuring that we were happy and had everything we needed. I can’t say enough about her. Addis in the front office was also very helpful. We cannot wait to return to Ibagari for our fourth visit and to dive again with Lucila and Axel.

We had a wonderful vacation, we rented one of the Ibagari Homes next to Ibagari. The house is right beachfront, beautiful and full of activities for the children. We dived, snorkeled, kayaks, dolphins and a park nearby where we saw monkeys. The housekeeping service, personalized butler and Chef Alex were perfect!!

We had a fabulous stay!. Our room was designed well with great amenities like automated shades and super cool ambient lighting. The bed and linens and pillows were wonderful and cozy. The bathroom soaps, and lotions and shampoos and conditions were high quality and smelled great! We had a patio with hot tub and sun lounger and table and chairs that was charming and serene. The staff was accommodating on every level and got to know your name quickly. The food was excellent. Wonderful quality and flavor. I can't wait to come back. It is a small boutique property that is quiet and relaxing and soothes your soul.

This is a truly great resort. The place itself is beautiful with a great restaurant and has it's own fantastic dive shop. The staff at the restaurant really treat you well. A shoutout to Eduardo, Ruth and Ramon for their excellent service. At the dive shop Axel and Lucy, both are instructors and are very helpful and fun. Axel fixed my flooded dive computer and Lucy fixed my new mask. Ronald was also very helpful at the front desk. Honestly, you can find a better dive group or resort!
