I’ve eaten at The Wellington before but never stayed. Have to say I was so impressed with the quality and style of the hotel. My room was truly beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the full English breakfast was perfect. I can’t fault any of it. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for a while .

Superb little hotel in Welwyn (much nicer than Welwyn Garden City). Room was lovely and quirky. Well appointed. Both bath and shower in room 2. Breakfast was yummy and included on my stay. The dinner was delicious and just the right amount. Drink prices were about the norm.

Annual family get together and this is the 4th time we have stayed and eaten here. Each room is unique and everyone is lovely and always very clean. We had a family dinner for 13 and again the food was great and the serving team looked after us really well. Breakfast the next morning was equally good, loads of choice and very generous. Will definitely stay again.

Waited about 20 minutes to be served then waited more for drinks. We arrived about 1:00pm. It was so slow that the waiting staff gave up and left, we had to go to the bar to finish service. What a shame because the food was good, although over-priced.

Welcoming, friendly and polite staff. Excellent, tasty food. Very flexible with booking time and ordering. Attentive without hovering. Great ambiance, clean, crisp, light and airy pub but retains more classic pub interior decor. Price very reasonable. An excellent gastropub!

We had our wedding reception at the Wellington with 29 guests. Ellie, the manager could not have been more helpful both with coming up with ideas and going out of her way to make it a really special day. The staff were both friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and the service was amazing.

As the say in the Sound of Music......let's start at the very beginning. Check in was personal and professional. Room was fabulous, my own pictures so not do it justice (just stay there). I sat in the bar area for dinner and drinks like a Billy no mates. If I'm being critical I'd want homemade tartar sauce, nevertheless it was tasty. Did I mention the ale....... That was ok too, wine list was extensive and would have been tackled if it wasn't for work. Have I mentioned the service? Well the guy who checked me in was still there at the end so it was still professional and courteous. Good night's sleep. If I was being hyper critical I'd say curtains needed a lining (maybe my room only?). Thanks for everything.

Our first visit. We were 5 - three adults, a 9 month old baby and Poppy our Labrador. From start to finish we were well looked after by cheerful Ellie who only moments earlier had found out she would be on her own as front of house. Ellie was calmness personified and made time to make us all feel welcome. The imaginative dishes from the Light Bites menu were excellent too - we can recommend the Bubble & Squeak Eggs Benedict and the Duck Bon Bons. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience
