Bill and Michael are the best hosts we ever had!!! A wonderful breakfast that lasts you till dinner time!! You will never leave the table hungry!! The bed and breakfast is so clean!!! You will not be disappointed If you are ever in the Wells Maine area, we highly recommend

We had a truly wonderful 2- night experience at The Elmere. The inn was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. Michael and Bill were amazing hosts. They were both beyond friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed talking with them. Bill’s 3-course breakfasts were incredibly good. We liked the location very much and could easily ride our bikes through nearby neighborhoods. We had a wonderful experience in Wells and give The Elmere our highest rating.

A true B&B experience with Michael & Bill as the most gracious hosts. Beautifully cooked to order breakfast such as eggs Benedict with red potato home fries & fruited French toast. Room was immaculate with high end Beekman 1801 bathroom product’s & comfortable bed. Definitely the place to stay in the Wells area.

We were at the Elmere for a couples weekend away. We had plans for the Ogunquit theater and reservations to some fabulous local eateries. Unbeknownst to me, I had booked the suite which included a Jacuzzi! This was such a fabulous surprise. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners, who are so lovely and inviting! They gave us pointers on local beaches that were not crowded with parking that was easy and ample. They also greeted us every morning with a delicious breakfast that was homemade and included some really fun banter! I would highly recommend staying at this inn opposed to staying in downtown ogunquit because it’s easy to park easy to get to and the people are so nice! Highly highly highly recommend!

We stayed on the second floor, the room had a queen size bed, refrigerator, and private bath. Decor was tasteful and up to date. Hosts Michael and Bill were extremely nice and very helpful with local restaurants and things to do. Breakfast was AMAZING! We had eggs benedict the first morning, with coffee, juice, fruit and homemade blueberry cake and a cinnamon coffee cake. Way too much food (but in a good way!!). The second day was a fruited french toast with blueberries and strawberries on top. SO GOOD!! Plenty of space outside to sit and read under the shade trees. Location is between Wells and Ogunquit, right off Hwy 1. Very quiet considering being so close to the road. This was our favorite place to stay during our trip along the coast and we will have fond memories! We hope to return some day!

My wife and I had been looking for a place to stay in Wells for a while and have tried many different locations and B&B's as we are up to visit my parents a few times a year. Michael and Bill are such gracious hosts and made sure we feel right at home and took care of any needs or requests we had. The rooms are well sized with comfortable beds, and even though the property is on Route 1, it is set back enough and fenced to feel private. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well kept, and there is more than adequate parking. We will definitely be staying with Bill and Michael the next time we head to Maine. Couldn't have been happier or asked for more. Highly recommended!

We liked everything about Elmere! Super accommodating and truly went above and beyond for my partner and I! You are NOT going to find a better Bed and Breakfast place anywhere. Michael and Bill are true pros with their hospitality, we enjoyed pleasant conversations and the breakfast... chef's kiss perfect!

This is the perfect place to stay for New England hospitality. The inn keepers Michael and Bill go above and beyond to ensure a true New England inn experience. The included daily breakfast prepared by Bill and served by Michael is exceptional - coffee, tea, juice, coffee cakes, fruit, eggs benedict, home fries. We were spoiled and could only imagine the next day's menu. Rooms are so comfy and traditional - heavenly sleep. And the icing on the cake was mascot dachshund, Bentley. We cannot wait to return for another pampered visit.

We chose the Elmere House because of all the great reviews we had read. Having just returned from three fabulous nights there, I can say that all of the positive things people wrote about both the place and the hosts are spot on. It annoys me when people are asked to grade something on a scale of 1 to 10 and respond with “11.” But in this case, I’m tempted to do the same thing myself. Whether it’s the way Bill and Michael treat their guests, their attention to detail, the presentation and taste of the breakfasts—perfect 10’s across the board.
