Stayed on the ground floor, room was unclean with hairs and stains all over the carpet. Food in the restaurant wasn't the best but breakfast was OK. Building works happening all around the hotel. For parking you need a QR code from reception but there's rarely anyone there, it works out at £4.50 a night. Wouldn't stay again.

After 4 nights stay in Wells Premier Inn, we gained a fairly good idea and confirmed why we went back again - All the staff and I will name them starting with Tuesday evening through to Saturday morning -Emmy, Josh, Mannal, Ferd, Sandra, Elliot & other, David, Gail and last but not least your center pin behind the food especially breakfast- RAY !!!! I have mentioned all of these peopls because they deserve to be praised !! There was a small issue one evening but after having a quiet word to the right person without making an issue - was rectified immediately. My only downside was that we did the meal deal and as im not a lager person - I asked for a doombar only to be told that now there is a £1.50 surcharge - NOT a good move Premier Inn !!! Spirits & mixers I can understand but not a real ale when I know how much you are buying them in for ???? Your team that we met over the 4 days that we stayed were a credit - they treated us well & looked after us - Is that because we respected them also ??? Well done !!! Sorry - forgot front of house Mary who remembered us from our visit in January, another star !! Liz & Dave Hemmings.

The hotel was convenient for seeing Wells with the benefit of available parking. It was clean, welcoming and our room was very comfortable. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice including fresh fruit salad and croissants. Our only gripe was having to pay for the parking. Other Premier Inns do not usually charge for this.

Premier Inns are not luxurious but are predictably clean and comfortable and ideal for a stay of a day or two.

The new Silentnight bed was too hard. The staff are wonderful but, there are not enough. Food is good value and a good choice. Within walking distance of Wells.

Hotels was fine and the usual Premier Inn experience. On the down side the beds were uncomfortable Whatever you do, DO NOT eat in the evening. The food was awful. I ordered the veggie burger and it was soggy, staff didn’t seem to care. We ordered food together but they served my partner and 10+ minutes later my food arrived. It must be a different cook for breakfast as the breakfast was very good. I would not stay at or recommend the Wells Somerset Hotel.

We booked 2 rooms to stay nearby for a funeral. Attempted check in using the screen but member of staff was available and that was much quicker. Room was a premier plus which has a few touches like iron and ironing board, nicer toiletries and coffee maker. One of rooms had a musty smell. Had breakfast- cooked was good but continental could be improved. Crumpet was stale and cool table was so cold the berries had frozen and stuck to the bottom of the bowl! Limited choice but service was friendly and coffee machine issue was quickly dealt with.

I stayed here with my husband and two young children. The hotel was modern with lots of parking (would be nice if parking was free to customers). The room was modern, spacious and clean. The family room had a large double with two singles, which was much better than the double sofa bed included in most other hotel family rooms. The breakfast was good. Wells was a lovely place to explore and only 10 min walk down the road. All in all, excellent value and I highly recommend for a family stay - all the basics done very well.

I chose this Premier inn over the the overs in the area due to the reviews and pictures and it turned out to be a perfect choice. We booked a Premier plus which meant we had a coffee machine and fridge in the room which was handy. The reception was unmanned when we arrived but self check in was easy - although you only get 1 keycard which proved problematic later. ( I went to Morrisons to get snacks and drinks without the only key and you cannot access the lifts or stairs without one- found a member of staff to let me through) The room was a very good PI room and faced to the rear. We had a good nights sleep in a comfortble bed and checkout and car park was hassle free. The town is less than a mile away so walkable if you want to get breakfast off site.
