We were met by a friendly receptionist and our room was spacious & clean. The restaurant was closed in the evening but there are plenty of places to eat or grab a take away within a minutes walk. Excellent location. But the real star of the show was Summer at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. She was bright, cheerful and very kind & helpful. She is an asset to the Dog & Duck. Thank you Summer.

We've stayed at this premierinn for many years, on our many trips to Santa Pod and whilst there have been some issues with the restaurant and the heat in the hotel itself, it's always been reliable, consistent, clean and comfortable. The staff have always been great and on this occasion, I want to give our sincere thanks to Lucy on reception. My husband had left his earring on the bedside table which we only realized after we had checked out. Luckily, we were still at the Pod and I rang reception. Lucy went straight up to look for the item and had it ready for us to pick up when we got there. It has great sentimental value so big thanks to Lucy for her care and attentiveness - it meant a great deal.

Chose this place, based on convenient location and apparent value of Premier Inns. Booking and confirmation all simple. Really friendly and professional checking-in… And then downhill l from there. The room was tired (fittings, carpets, yellowish stained towels). Bed was comfy and looked forward to a good sleep until the floorboards from room above started creaking loudly every time someone walked on them. Not sure if this is all Premier Inn or just this one but they seem to have gone downhill from the “basics done well” brand they used to have. My window was about 3 ft away from vehicles in the car park and when they started their engines at 5.30am, it was obviously noisy with the window open but the exhaust fumes came straight into the room! A bad night’s sleep can be made a bit better with a good breakfast but that wasn’t the case! The waitress just grunted and pointed. I asked for 2 poached eggs & I think they just cracked raw eggs onto a plate and brought them out. Not looking good for silver service by the way but some basic communication & manners would work. I’d recommend going to Tesco over the road for food.

The evening of our arrival we were greeted by a very nice female member of staff, helpful and polite. She advised us that we could add breakfast to our stay the next Morning which we were really happy about. However the next day came and me and my partner made our way over to the restaurant, to meet other family members who were staying at your establishment. we noticed a female staff member back logged with a few customers paying their bill, so to ease the pressure we proceeded to sit down with our family to say morning and then go back and book onto breakfast. Instead of a friendly greeting and a " I'll be with you in a moment please take a seat " we were greated with a " who are you ?" Which got us both on the back foot immediately. As we sat down with family they had told us they had been waiting 20mins to place their orders. My brother who has a 4yr daughter had to use a napkin as a plate for his daughters toast as there wasn't any available at the table. It only gets worse, as the female came over to eventually take our order, there was no apology for the delay. My other brother stood up and went to complain at the front desk as it was 30mins in total waiting. The female member of staff then raised her voice at me and my family including my other who tried to reassure her that our frustration wasn't actually with her as we had empathy for her since it appeared she was on her own dealing with a slightly busy restaurant for breakfast. The female member of staff took no notice of my mothers kind and reassuring words and instead started to increase the level of her voice and started swearing at us and been very very rude and disrespectful. We later found that the female member of staff was actually the on duty manager!!! This is absolutely appalling and I have never witnessed such bad hospitality from a hotel. I have to give a 1/5 as an option of 0 isn't available. Me and my family will never be staying at this establishment again and we will be urging others not to do the same.

Dirty sheet on the bed. Told reception staff who gave us a clean sheet but when we put the sheet on the bed it was covered in dirty black marks, went back to reception and got another sheet. Told reception staff we only wanted breakfast on the Sunday 25th august and not Monday 26th, I didn’t realise at the time but we had been charged for 4 breakfasts instead of 2 and I hadn’t spotted this until I received the email receipt on the 26th. I phoned the hotel at Wellingborough and told the person I was talking to and she said that if we’re due a refund we’ll get it back, to which I said we will get a refund because we didn’t have breakfast on the Monday and we told reception staff on arrival that we didn’t want one on the Monday. During the night of Saturday 24th/25th the room above us was noisy very creaky floorboards, we could hear people moving around in the room for quite a while, the floor boards were very creaky. Our sleep was very disturbed that night and because it was about 2.00 am in the morning we didn’t really feel as if we wanted to get up and go to reception to let them know, at that time of the morning what could they do? We informed reception first thing Sunday morning about the disturbed sleep to which they apologised, I then asked if anyone would be in that same room on the Sunday night to which she said probably not. That night there was someone in that room again and we had another disturbed nights sleep. I phoned Premier inn to complain and asked for the good nights sleep guarantee but was told that because we hadn’t complained about it during the night we are not eligible for a refund for that night, however we did get get a refund for the Sunday night. The food available for breakfast was poor , I had a continental breakfast and according to the menu choices there should have been more food available. The restaurant was very tired looking and a bit grubby in parts, the plastic covering on the benches ripped in parts. We wouldn’t stay there again but it has also put us off staying in any premier inn in the future.

The Wellingborough Premier Inn was in the process of change, however, the bedroom was tired and smelt of other people, the bathroom was unsuitable for an elder person or someone with a disability, there was no hand rail or bath mat, the "mat" in the base of the bath was inadequate for purpose. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was being refurbished, the breakfast was OK but on the 2nd day there was no Englsih breakfast because the trainee chef couldnt cope and walked out.

Went for a long weekend to visit Santa Pod. The day before departure, I received an email to say that the hotel restaurant was closed but that there were plenty of places to eat nearby. Arrived to find that the nearby (walking distance) eateries were only of the fast food variety! We had deliberately booked a Premier inn for the in house restaurant to give our daughter a respite from driving. That obviously didn't work. We were informed that cooked breakfast was available, but that it would have to be ordered and would not be the self help that we hade been used to previously at Premier Inns. This was the case for the first 2 mornings, but cooked breakfasts were not available on the 3rd morning as the chef had walked out. Continental only. We were told that we would be refunded the price difference between the continental breakfast and the cooked breakfast. No recompense has been offered for the lack of in house restaurant for evening meals. Even a money off voucher for one of the fast food outlets would have shown some sort of understanding and thoughtfulness, but no - only an apology from the receptionist. I did ask to speak to a manager on the 3rd morning after our continental breakfast but was told no-one was available and instead was given a card with an email address to raise our complaints

I have stayed at this Premier Inn before as it is convenient for visiting family. The room this time was not as clean as on previous occasions - there were cobwebs by the radiator, just inside the door and in a couple of the corners. The ceiling spotlight inside the door wasn’t working, but to be honest I find spotlights don’t really provide good light so that didn’t make much difference, Breakfast was food quality as usual and that staff were very friendly and helful
