The Ederer Hotel is a very nice hotel in the Austrian town of Weiz. I was there for business for a couple of nights. The Hotel is located on a hill which boasts nice views of the surrounding hills. The room is very spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner was nice with fresh bread and cold meats, fresh coffee and juices. You do need a car to stay here, as it is not too close to the center of town. There is a nice looking church next to the hotel, and also there is a pretty cool bar next door.

Arrived at 9pm… front door locked (despite sign saying it’s open 07:00 to 23:00), noticed a map on the wall advising where the back door is if you arrived outside of these times. Eventually found the back door, walked in to find nobody around, no bar, no restaurant… no-one. Eventually realised there was a note near reception advising they were closed and my key was just left out. Caught a lift down into a basement, then had to catch a different lift to go up another floor… eerily quiet. Room was very basic. No tea and coffee making facilities. No attempt had been made to contact me pre arrival so arrived tied and hungry and very disappointed. Bed comfy. Breakfast team very unfriendly. Food okay… typically Austrian, cold meats, cheese and fish.

Hotel Top. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Ich bin mit einer Reisegruppe angekommen und wir sind freundlich und flott aufgenommen worden. Auch mir ( Busfahrer) standen sie mit Rat und Tat ( Parkplatz,...) zur Seite. Danke nochmals an Alle. Wir werden uns sicher mal wieder sehen. Lg. Wolfgang

Wir haben an einem Wochentag ohne Reservierung einen Tisch für 2 bekommen, das Gebäude ist wirklich riesig. Das Essen war sehr gut, ehrlich gekocht und bodenständig, ansprechend serviert. Die Speisekarte ist regional, saisonal und abwechslungsreich.

Wir kannten den Ederer nur von Werbungen, wo er als Top-Hotel angepriesen wurde. Ich muss sagen, dass wir sehr enttäuscht waren. Das Zimmer war ok, die Betten ok, jedoch das Bad war schlimm. Dreckige Bodenfliesen, eine Badewanne, wo man den Wasserlauf deutlich erkennen kann. Putzen wäre hier wirklich angesagt. Löcher in der Wand wurden einfach mit einer anderen Farbe zugespachtelt. Das Frühstück war OK, jedoch musste man nachfragen, ob es ein Eigericht gibt. Man hätte nich gesagt, dass es das auch gibt, oder nachgefragt, ob wir eines haben möchten. Dazu kommt, und das ist für mich das Schlimmste, die extreme Unfreundlichkeit der beiden Chefleute, die wohl der Meinung sind, der Ederer ist das non plus ultra...sorry, das ist der bei weitem NICHT! Fazit: wir kommen nicht mehr

Wir waren leider nur für eine Nacht in diesem so netten Hotel, aber wir waren sehr positiv überrascht. Besonders aufgefallen ist uns die nicht aufgesetzte Freundlichkeit. Das schätzen wir sehr. Von der Begrüßung bis zur Verabschiedung haben wir uns wirklich willkommen gefühlt. Das Zimmer war angenehm groß und blitzsauber. Der Wellnessbereich klein aber sehr fein. Das Abendessen im Restaurant hat unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen und wir haben den Abend sehr genossen. Der uns betreuenden Kellner ist ein Glücksfall für jeden Betrieb. Der liebe Haushund rundet den Gesamteindruck ab. Danke für dieses schöne Wochenende.
