We arrived after an unplanned 800km trek on the Autobahn, and were greeted by a busy but very friendly staff. The beer was oh-so-cold. The rooms were large and well-equipped. Dinner was tasteful (we had steaks and schnitzels). And breakfast the enxt morning was excellent. All in all a great place to spend a night!

I hate to leave bad reviews to friendly hard working people but future travelers will need to know about a few problems they may have at this place. While clean and full of historic charm, this place sits right on a fairly busy street and is also a home to a busy restaurant. Up to about 11 am the noise and smoke from the restaurant was right up in our room. The street traffic somewhat subsided by midnight but the town bell still rang every hour, not even a hundred meters from the hotel. That was probably the worst part of our stay. Because there was no AC or wall fan in the room, we had to leave the windows open and the noise from the bell every hour and occasional traffic literally kept us awake all night. The room, while clean, is very small and very basic, no fridge or tea/coffee maker. Bathroom , while clean, is very dated, with swing out glass door over the bathtub, minimal amount of water from the shower and difficult to adjust hot/cold water. Its also very narrow, for an average person its hard to walk in and not run into a countertop or glass shower door. Internet was literally non existent. It worked for two minutes and then dropped, we played with it and had to use our iphones as mobile hot spots for laptop. Fan in the bathroom didnt work either.

Both rooms and restaurant are of good quality. The restaurant’s menu is great but the 100 cl wines are too expensive which makes price-quality very unbalanced and the final financial result staggering. Our table waitress was professional but her male colleague was too pushy and dominant and really knew how to temper our enjoyment.

We were hoping for a nice, relaxed evening with good food. Unfortunately we were disappointed when the chef couldn't even manage a simple Zurich schnitzel. Well then I see no hope for the Adler. The condition also suffered from memory loss. You had to remind us of your order two or three times before he brought it. What was particularly bad was that we were served Black Forest Cola and Tonig. That's not okay, and without us being made aware that they only serve pseudo Cola & Tonig. Despite complaining and leaving the Cola we had to pay for it. Not exactly customer friendly. I wish the Adler all the best and hope that they can get the quality right. P.S. we enjoyed dessert somewhere else in Weil am Rhein.

We were only informed after the cancellation deadline had expired that there would be noise in the evening because of the carnival and that the car park had to be vacated by 9 a.m. because of a parade the next morning. When we arrived in the evening, the hotel said it would be 8 a.m. So it was loud until after midnight and we had to leave at 6:30 a.m. the next morning because we wanted to shower and have breakfast. Notifying us of this after the cancellation deadline was already borderline, and the reception at check-in was also very unfriendly. The price for a few hours of peaceful sleep is outrageous. We have stayed in this hotel before and were happy then, but not at all now. You should not treat your guests like this. Conclusion: never again!

Das Hotel ist ganz süss, vor allem aber möchte ich das Frühstück bewerten. Es ist ausgezeichnet. Man sitzt in einem Raum mit sehr schönen alten Bildern und die Gastgeberin macht fast alles selber, wie z. B. die Butter, Kräuterquark, Rote-Beete Dip usw. Die Cookies möchte ich besonders erwähnen. Diese waren einfach göttlich. Insgesamt wird hier sehr viel Wert auf Bio Qualität gelegt. Die Lage in der Nähe von Basel hat es uns ermöglicht, hier günstig zu wohnen und dennoch Basel zu besuchen zu können.

Camera accogliente ma purtroppo poca pulizia. Materassi davvero scomodi. Personale gentile nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene ma peccato x la camera . Buona colazione con poche cose ma di qualità. Comoda posizione per visitare Basilea e l'Alsazia spendendo meno. Ottimo il ristorante x la cena
