An absolutely charming mountain cottage style home with one of the best views in Haywood County. A single level plan with an open living area highlighted by exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and skylights. A split floor plan with a large ensuite master suite on one side and 2 guests rooms and 2 bathrooms on the opposite side of the house gives everyone privacy. You will have wonderful long-range views of the Balsams at an elevation of 3000’ yet you are only 1.5 miles from downtown Waynesville with all the shops, galleries and outstanding restaurants. Ingles & Walmart are less than 1.5 miles from the house. All roads to the house are maintained by the city and the driveway and parking area at the house are paved as well. The Roost is the midpoint between Asheville and the Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah’s Casino - each about 30-45 minutes from THE ROOST so great for day trips with major highways easily accessible. Bryson City for white water rafting and tubing as well as riding the Great Smoky Mountain Railway are only 40 minutes from THE ROOST. An incredibly well equipped kitchen including a gas stove, quartz counter tops and an abundance of dishes and cookware will make family mealtime easy. Games, cards, books, and DVDs are available to enjoy during your stay. There are flat screen HD TVs, Blue Ray players in the living room & master bedroom as well as an Apple TV box in the living room but we doubt you will need them with the covered porch and rockers at sunrise and sunset calling your name. The Wifi connection is strong and many have worked remotely from THE ROOST over our years of ownership. Please note – pets and smoking are not permitted at The Roost. The property is beautiful, comfortable, clean and extremely welcoming. Fabulous mountain view from the porch. The host was fantastic in her communication, making sure we had all of the pertinent information, made sure everything was going well, and gave us recommendations of restaurants, etc. It could not have been a better experience. Wonderful get away The property was absolutely beautiful. We loved using the kitchen and cooking in some to enjoy the breathtaking view!! The yard was well maintained and beautiful flowers. We will definitely be renting again. It was home away from home.

The Roost Cannot be Beat! We love The Roost! We found the Roost just as pictured back in March, 2024, so we decided to return in March, 2025 (trip having been delayed due to Hurricane Helene recovery) with a sister and brother-in-law along to enjoy the Roost, Waynesville and the surrounding area. The Roost never disappoints. Owners Keith and Susan offer all the necessities of home plus more! They are also very knowledgeable of the area and always go the extra mile in researching questions for answers. The mountain views from the front porch rockers, swing and table cannot be beat any time of day! The Roost is a slice of heaven!

Thanksgiving in Waynesville This is our second visit to Waynesville for Thanksgiving, and our first stay at The Roost. We really enjoyed our stay and our hosts were great to work with. The Roost is a very nice cottage and was a great place for us to stay. Everything about it was great and descriptions were very accurate. The Roost was already decorated for Christmas so that definitely helped put us in the holiday spirit. We’re already planning for next year and definitely plan to stay at The Roost again. My wife and I are also looking at possibilities of visiting in late spring or early fall as well. I highly recommend this property and the owners are a delight to work with.

A Perfect 10 This was an absolutely fabulous stay! Everything was 10/10! Communication with Susan was great. The house was immaculately clean with so many thoughtful touches plus it was decorated for Christmas in such a fun and lovely way, it added so much magic to our trip! The views from the front porch are also stunning. The house had everything we needed and we felt so comfortable there. Absolutely perfect! Thank you so much Susan and Keith! We hope to visit again!

The Roost The Roost is the most charming cabin and offers the most spectacular views. The front porch is a fabulous place to begin your day overlooking the mountains and town of Waynesville. Our host was an absolute jewel and was very responsive and organized. I can't say enough. We had a wonderful stay.

A restful Roost Even though we were there during Helene a really bad storm. we were safe and had a beautiful view. the house was beautifully decorated and well set up. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. After the storm we received helpful support from our host and others we met.
