Pugmarks Jungle Lodge

We drove to Pugmarks Resort in Wayanad from Palakkad and the roads were beautiful till the resort. The resort is a lovely place, nestled very close to the Wayanad forest reserve and maintained extremely well by Gopa Varma the founder and his efficient team. Each cottage can accommodate 3 to 4 persons comfortably. There is a tree house with jacuzzi and a balcony to enjoy your morning tea. Food at Pugmarks was outstanding. It tasted like a home cooked meal made with lots of love. We also got to taste fresh Nutmeg pickle which was out of the world. Gopa ensures that all his guests are well taken care of. We got to do a walking tour of the estate where this resort is situated. Locals are employed at the resort and they source their milk and vegetables from the farms around the resort making it eco friendly and sustainable while supporting the local community. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a few days of peace, far from the crowd. The drive from Wayanad to Bangalore took us about 5 to 6 hours and the road is very good throughout. Stay at Pugmarks for atleast 3 or 4 nights so that you can go hiking, trekking, coracle rides and farm tours. You can also visit Thirunelli Mahavishnu temple which is just 30 minutes from the resort. We loved our stay and would definitely go back and spend some more time there.

Nestled among a scenic landscape in Wayanad, Pugmarks is a calm and serene abode for your family to just relax, experience nature (wildlife occasionally) and simple but delicious food. All ingredients for a great holiday, We stayed for 3 nights with two kids,. Pugmarks has got a pool (neat and clean), basic activity amenities and loads of nature(Mango, pepper, coffee in abundance). The highlight was the Treehouse Suite which had a jacuzzi, kids spent most of the evenings in it :) . The treehouse is a must, it is equipped with modern amenities but within wild. The property is at a right distance from a nearby sight seeing places. We came via the Nagarhole Wildlife reserve, which in itself was adventurous with wildlife spotting (missed the tiger though!!!). Overall an amazing memory for the kids and for us.

A perfect getaway nestled in the forest midst, with well furnished cottages, this is an ideal place for a vacation. Waking up to chirping birds in early cool mornings & lucky enough to catch sight of wildlife like deers and elephants, the stay was an experience to savour. Tasty typical mallu food enhanced the experience. They have a pool where you can chill out. The watch tower let's you get a glimpse of the elephants when they come out in the night. All in all, it was quite an enjoyable stay. Will be back.

I had a wonderful stay at the resort. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The amenities were excellent, with a beautiful pool .The food was delicious ,homemade and varied. I highly recommend this resort for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

This was my visit to Wayanad with my Thai colleagues from Bangkok. Amazing experience ! Morning walk through the elephant corridor near pugmarks jungle resort was the highlight. Saw an elephant taking a mud bath. Hospitality at pugmarks was truly appreciable even to my Thai colleagues

I searched this place online nd liked it on the first look itself we have a big family 19 of us so we booked d entire place for 3 days. For ur kids pool is a must so this was d deciding factor for booking this place Mr Gopa Varma the owner of the place was awesome right from planning stage he guided me on the phone not only for the resort booking but also the surrounding places especially booking the nagarhole safari nd our travel arrangements to nd fro from Kannur International airport Kannur Airport is conveniently located approx 2hr 30min ( while going uphill is 3 hrs) from the property rail station is Kannur railway station which is 3 hr 30mins approx Now coming to the property it is well maintained Huge property nd literally its a jungle stay full of greenary arnd The pool is superbly maintained nd will give competition to any 5 star hotel nd is decent size with separate kids pool While booking pls speak to Mr Varma as couple of rooms nd the tree house are not meant for senior citizens with walking disablities The property has total 6 cottage options 3 AC cottages 2 Non Ac cottages on the 1st floor Nd 1 State of the art Tree house with a huge Jacuzzi This place is meant for ppl who want to stay away from the husle busle of city life nd are adventurous a few activities are there onsite like cylcing, archery etc local sight seeing options are decent but one can just stay inside d property for 2 days easily without going out nd just enjy the place No words are kind enough to match Mr Gopa Varma's warm hospitality he went out of his way to accommodate out last minute changes The local food preparations were awesome nd all of us thoroughly enjyed d stay definitely recharged us for the entire year Highly recommended for nature lovers !!!
