We loved this hotel, smart and stylish and in an excellent location. Great views from our room named after one of the participants in the battle. Safe storage for our bicycles, an excellent restaurant and a professional and helpful staff. A young man called Tam(?) went above and beyond. Exceptional service. We hjad a great stay here with easy access to all the historiocal sites. Highly recommended.

Positives: large family room, 2 connecting rooms each with double bed. Great bathroom. Is minutes away from Waterloo museum which is fantastic. Negatives: outside room is a long horizontal pipe which is the ventilation pipe from the kitchen, loud noise and at times smelly fumes so could not have window open at 11pm Saturday night. Fans were provided for each room which we kept on all night but were quiet. No tea making facilities until I insisted because there was a photo of such on hotel website. Hotel has recently changed management, looks distinctly tired, badly in need of decoration. Bedroom key was difficult to operate.

Nice hotel. Room was sparsely decorated but had everything we needed. Bathroom was very small but the shower was good There is no lift but the stairs to the first floor weren't difficult even with my bad knee. Our room overlooked the battlefield which was perfect for my husband, and if we hung out of the window a bit we could see the lions mound. Breakfast was usual fair, continental and a not do British with scrambled egg and smokey bacon. The only problem was the first morning we got down the egg had all gone and wasn't replaced and the bacon was very hard. The hotel itself looks tired in places but there was a notice stating it is under new management so maybe it will be redecorated or refurbished at some point. All three nights we ate in the hotel restaurant - the food was delicious and service very good. Language not too much of a problem but knowledge of a smattering of French does help at times. Tip - there is a QR code on the top of the menu which translates it into English on your phone

Very gracious staff. Location was perfect for exploring the battlefield. We paid to get a room that overlooked the battle field and it was worth it. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was fine. Location is unbeatable

This is the first-choice place to stay if you are intending to visit the sites of the 1815 campaign. The location is right on the battlefield: the Memorial Museum, Hougomont, Mont St Jean, La Haie Sainte are all in easy walking distance. Waterloo village and Wellington's HQ museum are a few minutes drive towards Brussels and Le Caillou is a few minutes drive south. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The cost of breakfast is additional but there is cereal, bacon and eggs, croissants, rolls, cheese, cold meat etc. After four visits I would not go anywhere else.

The staff I have met so far are exceptional. Go out if their way to help. The rooms are a good size with a great view of the battlefield. The reception area is cold which is a negative. However I think it is a good hotel. The restaurant is busy and I would recommend booking.
