In terms of location, this hotel is 15 to 20 minutes away from the EBS bus station, which is not close, and it is not in a tourist area, which can be daunting. However, the monnikerdam where it is located has a quiet environment, and the rooms are traditional European-style small rooms. Living there is like living in a fairy tale. What's even more commendable is the hotel's breakfast, which is a Western-style breakfast in the form of high tea. The food is of high quality, and the butter also has a strong scent of animal fat. It's not ordinary supermarket butter. It's worth sighing for! PS There are no stairs here. If you have a lot of luggage or people with limited mobility, please consider carefully.

Just spent five nights here meeting up with family. Cannot fault our experience in any way. Stayed on the top floor with a large room with a bathtub. Perhaps a kettle for tea drinkers? Staff were amazing especially the concierge and our breakfast chef each morning! Breakfast was amazing choice of eggs, yoghurt with fruit and muesli and a cold selection of cheese, ham, bread and fruit. Private parking at the rear and central to all that charming Monnickendam has to offer!

Impeccable service, beautiful neat, and comfortable rooms with lovely bathrooms. Breakfast was phenomenal and we loved fussing Lev & Ten as well. The whole area was super chilled and a lovely place to walk and explore with a great patisserie, Thai and bars near by.

We (a thirty-something old couple) stayed here for one night in May 2022 and also had dinner in the Michelin star restaurant. NOTHING to complain about the restaurant, it is SUPERB. However, considering this is a Suitehotel attached to a Michelin star restaurant, the hotel is terrible. It LOOKS amazing, but the bed is super uncomfortable, the synthetic duvet is terrible, there is no coffee/tea at the room available, water was not going down the shower drain properly and the worst part was a crow's nest right above our bed in the roof directly on the drywall which kept us up all night aside the terrible bed. Of course, the hotel owners are not responsible for a crow's nest, but when we told them about it, the hostess simply said: "But at least be thankful that you will sleep well tonight, in your own bed". Amazing compassion there, NOT. While it would have suited her to offer us a complementary cup a coffee for instance, to sort of make up for the terrible night, she chose defense and take the LARGE amount of money we paid for a (yes incredible) dinner and 1 night overstay. In short: BIG YES for the restaurant, but NEVER AGAIN for the hotel.

I spent one night in Monnickendam for business and was recommended this hotel by locals. I'm very familiar with The Netherlands and know the whole country, from North to South. Rather than staying in Amsterdam I preferred opting for the cosy atmosphere of a Dutch village and wasn't disappointed. The hotel hosts a one-starred Michelin restaurant, therefore I suggest to book the whole experience. Parking wise is problematic as there are roadworks that make the access to the parking quite complex to explain. But parking in this time of the year is free so just get the chance to have a stroll in the city centre. The hotel doesn't have elevator: for those who carry a hold luggage just be aware. Personnel is lovely and welcoming, very chatting and friendly. The hotel amenities are in line with the XVII Century history of the building, but for a business trip is complicated, not enough plugs in the room, lighting is not well placed, there is no space at all on the bedside table and no space for the hold luggage. There is a closet indeed, but for a couple staying I'm wondering how can fit all in. I appreciate is a historical building but a few little improvements are encouraged. I would definitely come back.

One of the few options to eat during the corona. Only in combination with a hotel room. We had a nice meal and drinks here. The food was well prepared and the wine pairing matched nicely. Even though the price is on the high side for what we got, we really enjoyed it.

Very much enjoyed the food with matching wine pairing. The explanation about the wine was excellent! We would love to come back again. Sisterman's suite is also recommended for a good night's sleep after dinner and waking up with breakfast in bed. Love from me

Spent two days and one night in Monnickendam. Upon arrival I had an online meeting, which was possible in the upstairs room. Wifi was OK and so was the service. We then spent an afternoon cycling around the region. Dinner in the evening was very good. I don't know if I've ever eaten so refined before. Beautiful matching wines in the wine arrangement, with choices from wine regions that I personally do not know well. I allowed myself to be surprised and that was a good move. My wife doesn't drink wine, but we both enjoyed it. The hotel room on the t****th floor is cozy. Nice bathroom. Good bed, a bit short beds for us, but if there is no wooden partition at the end of the bed, this does not bother us. The breakfast was delicious. Staff young, but skilled and knowledgeable and above all customer-oriented. Highly recommended for any couple who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy being together in a pleasant atmosphere.

Our family enjoyed the wining & dining package, consisting of champagne with appetizer, a 5-course surprise menu with wine arrangement, an overnight stay and breakfast. All courses of the menu were of top quality with surprising flavors (French oriented with a touch of oriental influence) and accompanied by delicious (and well-matched) wines from Spain, Germany and Bulgaria. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and without that distant submissiveness that you sometimes encounter elsewhere. Beautiful rooms too and a wonderful breakfast with everything you could wish for. What a party!
