Seriously we appreciate how amazingly clean and updated our home resort is kept. The staff is friendly and the sunset grille is good as well. The cove is a wonderful resort that always feels like home! We already have 2026 booked.

This resort exceeded our expectations. From check in to check out everything was outstanding. The staff are amazing, welcoming, knowledgeable, responsive. The views of the apartments are just breathtaking. The housekeeping team was great too. Thank you for a memorable experience. We will come back.

We have been owners at the Cove since 2008 & always look forward to our 2 week stay in March. The villas are spacious & well appointed. The beach is nice for snorkeling & soaking up the sun. Great addition of the beach bar service & tables on the dock. With the Westin now open access to their amenities is a plus. Love the spa! The ferry shuttle to town is a great convenience as town traffic can be heavy. Navigating around the cruise boats is easy; those heavy days I hang out on the beach. Always love seeing many of the same staff each year. Marvin makes my beach days a delight… I love him! He makes sure the beach looks great each morning!

My family of five (husband and three children, ages 16, 12, and 6) visited St. Thomas from August 2–10, 2025, and stayed at Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove in a two-bedroom villa in the Virgin Gorda building. The villa was spacious, clean, updated, and had more than enough room for all of us. We often cooked breakfast and lunch right in the villa — the kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal. The pool area was another highlight — clean, inviting, and complete with a waterslide my kids enjoyed daily. There’s plenty of seating around the pool, and we never had trouble finding chairs. The beach is beautiful, with lots of chairs and umbrellas available. The sand is soft and clean, but a quick tip: enter the water on the far left side, as the right side can be a bit rocky. There’s one on-site restaurant with a casual menu of burgers, quesadillas, salads, wings, etc. We ate there three times for a late lunch/snack before dinner. The food was decent and convenient. The resort itself is hilly, so depending on where your villa is located, you may need to take two or three elevators to get there. It seemed tricky at first, but we got the hang of it quickly. For me, the only downsides were the limited dining options — I wish there were at least one or two more sit-down restaurants for dinner — and the long check-in process. Marriott emailed me multiple times before our arrival asking when we’d get there, and I consistently answered 2:00 p.m. While I understand check-in isn’t until 4:00 p.m., I had hoped the room might be ready since they asked. It wasn’t ready at 2:00, which was fine, but when we came back at 4:00, it still wasn’t ready. After waiting hot and tired from travel, we finally got into our room around 4:35 p.m. All in all, our stay was wonderful, and I would absolutely return to Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove. The location, villa comfort, and beautiful pool/beach area made it a memorable family vacation.

We are a family of four (my husband and I and two adult children ages 22 and 19). We all loved our stay at the resort. The rooms were spacious and nicely equipped with the comforts of home. We found the staff to be nice and accommodating Admittedly we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but we were comfortable while we were there. The gym was nice; had a peloton bike (which I loved). The cats and chickens weren't a problem for us - somewhat entertaining. On our last night we did the night kayak tour from the Westin which was memorable. The only negative review is related to food. First, there aren't any food options available after 10pm which posed a problem for us on the last night after the kayak tour. We attempted to eat dinner at 7 at the Westin but was told there was a 1 hour wait which would have put us too close to the starting time for the tour. We ended up eating sushi apps but would have preferred a more substantial meal since we were starving after the kayak tour. Next, we had breakfast and my kids had dinner at the on-site restaurant. I did not enjoy my seafood omelet as it was filled with imitation crab meat and not much else. Also, my daughter did not enjoy her yogurt/fruit plate. That said, our kids ate there the night before for dinner and really enjoyed their selections. So maybe it's hit or miss. Overall, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go again.

Meh… nothing special just a bunch of ‘tude from the locals (think Hawaii). Rent a car if you do visit, that way you don’t have to deal with their a-hole cab drivers. (If you must take a cab, ask for the TOTAL up front! They’ll purposely never give you a total up front… rather than your fare PER person. At your destination, that fare …PER PERSON…magically increases. Watch out for these d-bags.)

I rarely leave reviews, but the service during just our first few hours at Marriott Frenchman’s Cove has been so disappointing that it warrants attention—especially for anyone considering investing in their Encore package or timeshare program. We arrived and were immediately directed to the concierge desk for activities. The young man working there was on his phone, didn’t acknowledge us, and left us sitting there for nearly 10 minutes without a single greeting or explanation. When we politely mentioned this to a manager, they shrugged it off and did absolutely nothing to address it. Later that evening, my mother-in-law and I went to the on-site restaurant at 9:30 p.m.—well within their posted hours (they close at 10). Instead of being welcomed, we were met with sneers and eye-rolls from the staff, who were visibly irritated that we had the nerve to show up “late.” No greeting, no courtesy—just open hostility for simply walking in. This level of service would be unacceptable at a budget hotel, let alone at a Marriott-branded resort that’s actively trying to pitch timeshares to guests. If this is how they treat potential buyers, I can’t imagine how they treat owners. Frenchman’s Cove is a beautiful location, but management needs to take a hard look at the culture they’re fostering. Guests shouldn’t have to feel like a burden simply for showing up.

I tend to write reviews only if I believe it to be exceptionally good or exceptionally disappointing. This review is a bit different. The Marriott Frenchman’s Cove had some parts that were outstanding and others where we continued to be frustrated. First the good, amazingly beautiful property in a prime location. The pool and beach are outstanding. The second part of the resort that we enjoyed were the people working there. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. When we had some issues that I will mention soon, they took good care of us and made up for some of the problems. For that reason I went with 4 stars instead of 3. To the problems. First the food. Disappointing is an under statement. The resort is a bit isolated so the food options are already very limited. So to have the one restaurant available to you be so bad, really brings down the overall experience. For us the first issue led to the second. Since the food was so poor, we ended up going to the Westin next door for most meals. The Westin is a beautiful redone property with a lot of great food options. Even their marketplace had better pricing. The issue we had, the Marriott shuttle set up was terrible. They advertise shuttles every hour, which just doesn’t make logical sense. The Westin, another Marriott property is less than a 5 min drive away. A shuttle is the only way back or forth. So we would take a shuttle on the hour and be stuck there till the next hour to get back. The Westin runs their own shuttles but not to the Marriott unless they aren’t busy with their own guests. A couple other more minor issues. We found a lot of contradictions from different staff members, as previously stated they were all very nice. But the details just weren’t there. We also had some challenges with the “tour” from the vacation club. We understood that this sales pitch and free offer is part of the vacation club experience. However we had a major issue, albeit resolved in the end, with how ours was scheduled and what was allowed and not. In the end. We enjoyed this property and this destination a lot. A recommendation from our experience. Rent a car. Don’t rely on taxis or the shuttle and don’t waste your time eating on property. Otherwise, it is a great spot.
