The hotel is located on what in my opinion is the most beautiful beach in Kenya, and very little would be enough to make this place unforgettable. The structure is objectively old, well-kept, but old. The room I was assigned had a strong musty smell, and I often found ants. Considering the price, I would have expected greater variety of food, breakfast always the same, lunch and dinner with dishes that are often repeated and this over a period of 10 days can lead to boredom. Having said that, the staff at the property are fantastic, waiters, chefs and entertainers are really nice. So to conclude it is a hotel that I promote but with many reservations, because I expect more from a 4 star hotel. I hope to return and find improvements 🤞

Excellent location right next to the beach. Beautiful palm trees. Lamu style high beds. Clean room. Friendly staff. Dull cyclic menu. Would be nice to have a la carte on offer. (Its always lovely for us to have a variety/choice and be served and consequently pay for it as well as appreciate the server. Nothing to write home about. Service and facility felt undistinguished for the price paid and the star rating of the establishment. However not regrettable. I would recommend for families and group vacationers.

RESORT SPETTACOLARE. Super consigliato!!!

Amazing. First of all resort is very well designed and its remarkable architecture make it a luxury but at the same time characteristic one, due to the intelligent respect of African and local "genius loci". Room was very spacious and I did appreciate materials and finishing, making it comfortable, but at the same time rustic, looking very "local" but not in a kitschy way. Luxury resorts are sometimes kitsch, but that doesn't happen at Jacaranda, on the contrary giving the best example of compromise between luxury, comfort and tradition. Cuisine was excellent, with plenty of international, African and Italian choices and a very good Kenyan/Italian fusion experiment. Pastas, fish, meat, fruit, salads, dressings, everything was tasty and safe. Just desserts weren't anything special, I'd suggest to introduce some Italian traditional ice-cream. Staff was prompt and nice, all our requests have been completely satisfied. Place is great, daydream beach and fascinating excursions (never miss the safari!) within a few hours range. Must go!

Beautiful resort, right on the sea. Great staff, nice rooms. Clean. Good swimming pool. Totally inadequate internet. No Internet in rooms or reception. Only a slow to useless line near the bar. Forget work or downloading software. Access road of about 3km is a rocky disgrace. Each excursion out suffers time lost and discomfort. The actual public beach, beyond the resort limit, is populated by intimidating rip off merchants "Beach Boys". Sea swimming doesn't happen much due to this.

I had a bad experience at Jacaranda hotel. I booked the hotel from 16th Feb to 19th Feb but on arrival was faced by rude reception and kept waiting for one hour. I had to change hotels as they retained USD 200 from my booking. I would not recommend any stay. Winstone.
Response from Property: Dear Mr. Winstone Nobody forced you to keep waiting at the reception, we only asked you to pay for the early check-in once you arrived in the hotel at 8:30AM or to wait until your room to be ready. As you know usually the hotel's check-in time is 2pm but we were able to give your rooms much before that time. After this you decided to leave the hotel asking for the fully reservation refund, but as you should knew from the invoice was sent to you when you booked your stay, a cancellation made from 1 day prior arrival or no show have the 100% penalty. We decided to refund you fully, just holding 1 night as a cancellation penalty but seems was not appreciated the way we wanted to help you. That's the story and we feel regret that you wrote a completly different one.

Dirty glasses Basic rooms lacking a simple kettle Non-responsive staff Be warned before making your booking. And if you do, don't pay for the full stay as you will not get a refund. Was ready to check out within the first 30 minutes.
Response from Property: Dear KBree Honestly it is difficult to answer on a such of lack arguments review. Expectations in life can be unfulfilled, but it was just a matter of getting the proper informations about our hotel before coming. And nowadays it is easy with the technologies we have, in the same way you were able to write the review after half an hour of being in our property. However our staff miss to be "responsive" after knowing your intention of leaving the hotel, so for expample there was no point of satisfy your request of having Matoke for lunch if at 10AM you checked out. In conclusion, you got your full refund of 39,000 Kes, that was for all the nights you miss, so i can't understand why you lied about that.

We stayed with friends (3 couples in total) the last week of March. Journey of over two hours from Mombasa by bus with several final kilometers on a dirt road with bumps and cross-country holes, ideal for those with back pain problems. Externally beautiful structure with well-kept gardens. Rooms with ceiling fan and air conditioning, well maintained with private bathroom with minimum maintenance. Personally I don't go on holiday to eat and drink but if you want to compare the price paid (+ all inclusive) to the quality and, especially, the variety you could certainly expect much more. White beach always clean with sunbed service with vintage mattresses but comfortable to be covered however with towels provided free of charge with potential replacements without problems. Staff and staff always smiling and courteous. Definitely and sensationally negative points: - Of the 4 showers in the (salt) swimming pool, only one works (let's say very, very generously) without being able to get wet enough (for common hygiene) to remove sand and/or sweat before entering the water. afterwards to remove the salt to have a light refreshment (very little water and always hot). If even two are opened at the same time, no more water flows for anyone. When you ask the staff, they tell you that it is always like this and not because there was a fault. We also tried on the beach of the nearby Jumbo Resort and found the same situation. - But the even more serious sore point (in my opinion) is the dining room (where there are only three (3) ceiling fans (apart from another 4 placed above the buffet tables to chase away flies) which favor only 3 / 4 tables with 4 seats each which, consequently, are always the most coveted by almost all customers who, immediately after the first day, realize that it is not possible that in a 4 star resort you have to endure 3 times a day heat of this kind at just as many times of the day. I think that installing several other fans above as many tables would certainly not be a devastating expense for the owner(s) (among other things also of two adjacent resorts (Jumbo / Bravo) and perhaps many customers would have been satisfied. I certainly consider that we are in Kenya and that everything is parameterized to the "African" situation (with all due respect) but if the price is that of a 4 star resort, you have to offer related services and quality and it is not always possible and in any case, having to justify yourself with the same words.... "eh but we are in Africa".... So if, given the usual daily temperatures, you want to sit quietly to eat without suffering from the heat (be careful, I didn't say al fresco , it would be too much) then I advise you to choose another resort. Negative note aside, which however goes beyond the management of the resort, are the "beach boys" (very many) who stay all day between the border of the king

An experience that I recommend to everyone, to be done at least once in a lifetime. I thank my guide Federico Kenya Safari who made this experience even more unforgettable, always smiling and helpful.

Molto organizzati per check in e check out.

Franck.
