We went to this beautiful resort from January 7th to January 18th. There are many notable positives with a few notable negatives. We'll start with the negatives. 1. This resort mostly ONLY speaks Italian. This was not a problem for me or my girlfirend as I am Italian and she understands and mostly speaks Italian. However, all shows, announcements and most entertainment workers will only speak Italian, so this resort is not catered to a lot of different cultures. The workers do speak English, and the entertainment crew only did some, but if you're a person who wants to go meet people and have the best time but you're an English speaker, you'll have a hard time here. 2. There were two days where our room and the surrounding area smelled like sewage. It was horrible. We did talk to the front desk and it was fixed almost immediately because we didn't smell it after we reported it and went back. 3. The food... It wasn't horrible, but sometimes we did struggle to find something worth eating. There is a pasta bar manned by a man named Barack. It's really good... You can never go wrong with pasta. However, desserts weren't the best all the time so if you're love sweets you might not find something to satisfy your cravings. Also, the buffet in general was the same almost every day and sometimes the food did not have a lot of flavor. HOWEVER... you can find something you like to fill your stomach. 4. THE BEACH BOYS!!! Although we were warned about them before we left, we were not prepared for how heavy their presence can be. They are constantly trying to speak to you even when you're relaxing and will call out to you from their shops on the side. If you try to enter the water off of the resort grounds, you best believe you WILL be approached by numerous people trying to sell you something such as an excursion, souvenirs and things like this. My girlfriend tried to ignore them one time and was criticized for not saying hello, which made her feel bad. However, if you engaged in simple hello, you will be followed and if you give them your name, they will continue to see you and call out your name while trying to relax on the beach. 5. This resort DOES have a gym, however... it was under renovation and we were not able to use it. THE POSITIVE is that they do offer water aerobics and other options to get your body moving with the staff if this is something important for you. The positives far outweigh the negatives, which is why this resort is granted 4 stars from our point of view. 1. The workers are VERY kind. A smile and small talk goes a long way with them. They really love friendly people. 2. The grounds of the resort are kept pristine and are very beautiful. There are many options on where to sunbathe and relax. 3. There were two bars, one by the beach and one by the pool, where you can get drinks at all times during the late morning and afternoon. Beware that SOFT All-inclusive does NOT include alcoholic drinks, BUT the drinks are very cheap and a

This is the worst place we have ever stayed in during our many trips to Watamu. This is not a 4-star hotel, it's a 2-stars at best. The management is completely absent, leaving the front desk and restaurant staff to have no direction and oversight. We booked a seaview hotel room and woke up the next morning to a view of another building. After complaining about this, we were moved to a seaview room. Little did we know, the hotel is also party central and our new room was directly above the pool bar area where they played music at full volume two nights in a row, the second night until 2:30am. When we asked reception staff at around midnight if they could turn the volume down, the answer was that there is nothing they can do. The quality of the food the hotels offers is sub-standard and has nothing to do with a 4 star hotel. They offer only buffet meals and what they advertise is not actually served. The evening we arrived we were offered a choice of rice, mutton stew, lentils, potatoes, and fruit. I can't even talk about breakfast. Thankfully, we are familiar enough with Watamu so were confident in selecting other places to have our meals. This would be a disaster for any tourist coming for the first time to Kenya or just not as confident as solo travelers. The hotel's management is terrible, no communication, never around, and when you voice criticism - as we did at the end of our stay, he blamed the staff. If the hotel was choosing to make the few guests that weren't part of the party group sacrificial lambs, they should have communicated about the late night parties and offered refunds. Instead, we were left quite sleep deprived. We do not recommend to stay at this place. The only plus is that the staff cleaning the rooms is professional and lovely - Cornelius.

RACIST against Kenyans or blacks yet they are in my country.yThey chased us away for Italians to sit at a designated area yet the whole company had spent 1 million plus in the hotel. They ruined our retreat.

COMPLIMENTI!!
