My husband found this place to stay while we were back home visiting. Was looking for some place cheaper than the hotel we usually stay at. I read all the reviews about this place and they're all over place. There are signs on the main road directing you up the paved driveway. There's a building to the left half way up that could use some cleaning up. No main office, check in/out over the phone. Pond looked a little murky and it appeared people were living in the cottages around it as there was an RV parked next to them. Grounds need some maintenance and mowing, we saw a riding mower parked in some weeds near a lodge. Our cottage had a bay window but no deck out back. To walk around back to fire pit area you'd have to go through woods. Our neighbors for one night called for firewood that was promptly delivered. We stayed in 126 and the door was a bit difficult to open. Bathroom was big and jacuzzi was nice! Plenty of hot water, shampoo and soap. Towels made you feel at home with the colors. We paid extra for a kitchenette that was poorly stocked. Oven was dirty but couldn't use it because no pans. Had a saucepan and frypan and odd assortment of plates, silverware and glasses. Had microwave, sink and nice size fridge. Had a charcoal grill but no grilling utensils.Husband complained about TV being too small. Bed was comfy and sheets smelled freshly washed. Didn't hear our neighbors through the walls. There was a lot of furniture in this small space, some of it didn't make any sense and it really cluttered up the space. Elizabeth was nice and pleasant to deal with. This place has so much potential, I really hope it's on the upswing and not going downhill. Quiet country setting close to civilization. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely consider it again.

The description of the place is upscale, but that must have been 20-30 years ago. My husband surprised me with a birthday getaway, and we sure were surprised with how shabby this place was. We literally almost left. It looks like people are living in most of the cottages, and we thought we were at the wrong place. Like all the other reviews, check-in was confusing. The room smelled strongly of extra-strength cat urine remover, but luckily we brought our own scented candles, and after airing the room for a few hours (some windows didn’t have any screens-thank god we didn’t bring our baby), it wasn’t so bad. Room definitely needed a deep cleaning- dead and alive spiders along the ceiling in the bathroom, tiles were cracked and broken around the jacuzzi tub, the lights and vent in the bathroom didn’t work. The room had WAY too much random furniture in it, making it an obstacle course, especially to get to the bed (which had springs sticking out the side). We had to ask for outdoor chairs around the fire pit, and there was wood debris from tearing down a deck, with nails sticking up. Our neighbors played loud music with vibrating base all night and day, and thier kids kept pestering us to let them join our fire. For what was supposed to be a relaxing birthday weekend away, it was not very relaxing at all. I’m sure this was a lovely place at one time, but that time is long gone. Just sad. We will not be back or recommend to others at all

As soon as we arrived at this place we were worried. What we thought was a place to check in, was abandoned and completely trashed. We had to call to find out where we were supposed to go. The call went directly to someone who was cleaning our room. Check in was 3:00 o’clock, and that’s what time we arrived. The lady said she needed another 20 minutes, because the room wasn’t ready. The road to the cottages was a mess. There was trash all over the place and junk everywhere. The grass had not been mown in quite awhile, and what was absolutely beautiful on the web page, was a complete disaster in real life. Then we went inside…..at first glance, it was just Ok. After checking things out, we discovered that it was pretty dated and shabby. sub par furniture and decor. Some of the lights were not working and we had to call twice to get internet access because the instructions in the cottage were not correct. There were no drinking glasses in the kitchen, and no glasses in the bathroom. There was a cute little fire place, but it didn’t seem to be working correctly, so I was afraid to leave it on. The shower door was broken, and there were no washcloths and no bath soap in the bathroom. The outside areas that looked so nice in pictures, were dirty and junky. Having stayed there kind of ruined our little get away. We will never stay there again. It was really the worst travel experience I’ve ever had. For almost 200.00 a night, a hotel would have been much better.

Stayed in the manor house with 2 other families for one night before skiing snow trails the next day. My husband killed about 30 bugs. (Sort of like stink bugs, and they flew and stuck on my both of my kids) Since it was winter, we didn’t have the doors or windows open. These bugs were In that house for awhile. It’s a nice home for families getting together, dated decor but enough space. But the bug thing got to me and will never stay again. Other things include the heat was not turned on when we arrived and it was freezing.

Just going to list the crap for premium price. Truck with no wheel on drive People living long term in cabins with crap all around the outside. Dog on chain in snow, crying Stuff all over our front porch, sir conditioner etc. Mice droppings in drawers, all over silverware. Cob webs in oven, filthy dirty nasty oven.. The outside of fridge discusting. Tv' in all room but none have remotes or cable. Sorry 1 in small living room. Furniture old. You have to keep the bathroom window open to plug in outside lights. No propane in outside heater, never got any asked 3 times. Owner walked into home without notice or knocking. A guy was arrested within 1st hr, bench warrent. One of the thermostats had wires hanging and they had a tiny cardboard box covering it. Buddy had stink bugs in his bed. No foosballs for table Foosball table had drinks spilled all over it. A couple walked into our place ,The Victorian Manor, thought they were checking in there. The cabin we rented too stunk of Kerosene. Family in the Party house showed up went inside, not long after carried their stuff back to their car and left. There is nothing luxurious about this place, it is a yard sale of crap thrown in the place. For 2 night and $1800 you have got to be outside your mind to stay here. It's just too bad. We have stayed 2 other times, 8 years ago was the last time, and this place has gone to he×÷.
