The room is large, the lobby is magnificent, and the overall feeling is good. The service was good. We checked out of the room and it was still early to arrive at the train station. The waiter took the initiative to order tea for us and let us rest in the lobby. The only uncomfortable thing was that when I checked in, I couldn't understand the language. The receptionist spoke English, but there was someone nearby who could speak noon and couldn't help. I checked my passport twice and swiped my credit card twice. More than 20 minutes later, when the front desk took our passports to the back for review, the Chinese-speaking waiter told us that it was probably me who booked the room, and the first name of the guest was my wife.

very average I have stayed in many Waldorfs, and this one is the worst. There is no sofa in the room except the bed🥺, and the cups are still used

Booked a 2 night stay for June. Prearrival email from concierge was received and I informed them of my 3pm arrival. They stated they would try to accommodate the early check in. Arrived at 3pm and was escorted to checkin by doorman and my room was ready. I am Hilton Gold on an Impressario rate booked into lowest level room and was upgraded to a larger room. Benefits were explained and were correct. I was again escorted to my room (631). The room was large for DC and being on the 6th floor afforded a view of the top of the Washington Monument. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was stocked with the Aesop bath products in the refill bottles. Returning to my room after the down I found a nice box of truffles waiting for me in addition to the pillow chocolates. Peacock Alley is beautiful for drinks for breakfast. The location of the hotel is perfect for museums and the rest of the sights. All in all, this hotel lives up to the Waldorf name and provides exactly what you would expect from the brand.

Most amazing 6 night stay we’ve ever had in Washington. The hotel and rooms were amazing and most of all the entire hotel staff elevated this hotel to its five star level. Location was very convenient to all the museums and nearby restaurants. The two restaurants in the hotel were also amazing. Will definitely return on our next trip to DC.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, I am thrilled to learn that you have experienced both of our venues in the building, Peacock Alley and Bazaar. As we say the soul of the hotel resides in the kitchen. Thank you for visiting.

A very friendly and efficient check-in for our suite in the Old Post Office Building. The room was tastefully decorated and featured a large living room, big bathroom and a comfortable work area. The building had an old tasteful flair. Unfortunately there was no late check-out available and the staff even came to ‘push’ us out the room before the agreed check-out time despite the non disturbed sign. That was not expected in a hotel of this standard. Nice building but shortfall on staff friendliness.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, as much as I am delighted to hear that you have enjoyed our wonderful Castle, a bit disappointed that we were not able to extend a late check out. Hopefully we will get another chance to fulfill your request on a future trip.

This iconic hotel (It was an Old Post Office) is grand. We stayed here during the Cherry Blossom festival. The property screams luxury from the moment you walk in to the comforts of our room. They had a cherry blossom tree at the center of the lobby that greets the season. The beds are the best! We were able to rest well after long walks around the city, very accessible to attractions! We had breakfast and dinner at the Peacock Alley, great food selections! You can schedule a tour of the clock tower (We were told it’s the 3rd tallest building in the city), and we’ll try it next visit!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the most beautiful hotel in Washington, D.C., and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment our driver pulled up to the entrance, we were greeted by warm and friendly staff who made us feel instantly welcome. We knew we were in the right place when Ernest Frazier greeted us with a bright smile and the words, "Welcome Home." The check-in process was smooth and efficient, setting the tone for the rest of our stay. Our room was immaculate, bright, and simply stunning. The dining experience at the hotel restaurant was equally impressive, with delicious food, and I must say, my husband thoroughly enjoyed the drinks at the bar. The hotel’s location was perfect, offering easy access to nearby shopping at some of my favorite stores, including Ann Taylor, TJ Maxx, and Macy's, all within walking distance. We also had the opportunity to dine at some nearby fantastic local restaurants. We truly loved everything about our stay and were sad to leave—but we're already looking forward to our next visit. Overall, I would rate our experience a 100/100.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I had high hopes for my stay at the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC. I was informed I had been upgraded to a 2 Queen Grand room before arriving. However, what was meant to be a relaxing stay turned into a frustrating experience. Upon check-in, I was downgraded to a standard room without notice or explanation. I realized the situation after arriving in the room, which was clearly not what was promised. I returned to the front desk to express my concerns, but the treatment was shocking. The staff member not only misled me about room availability but did so with a condescending tone, speaking to me as if my concerns were insignificant. After blatantly lying about the situation, she dismissed my frustration and acted as though the downgrade was trivial. The level of disrespect was beyond unacceptable she offered no apology and showed no regard for my time or experience. Instead, I was told to leave the property and await a text when the proper room was ready, without even the courtesy of being allowed to wait in the lobby. I felt as though I had been kicked out of the hotel after being placed in the wrong room, with no consideration for the inconvenience. The unprofessionalism and lack of respect were astounding, especially from a property claiming luxury and service. The entire experience ruined what should have been a stress-free trip. The hotel later credited my account with 25000 points, but that did nothing to address how I was treated. The points won’t take away the stress or make up for the poor management of my stay. To this day, I’ve received no clear explanation or apology for the incident. I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties where I’ve always felt valued, but I did not feel that way during this visit. If you're seeking a stay where you're treated with respect and care, I recommend looking for another hotel.

We are Diamond Elite members, and what was to be a fun overnight for our anniversary turned in to one of the most embarrassing hotel stays I have ever had. We arrived around noon and left our bags as we walked the Mall area. On return, around 4:30 pm, they gave us our room keys. We confirmed they had the right bags and asked them to be taken to our room while we enjoyed a drink in the lobby. Around 45 minutes later we went up to our room. We used our key to open the room - and there was a lady sitting on the floor! I have never (ever) used a room key and walked in on anyone. She said they had brought some luggage up earlier, told them they had the wrong room. She had been staying there 3 nights. I was sick. She could have been undressed when we opened the door. By the time we got back down to the front desk I was crying - I was so embarrassed. I did the talking, since my husband was quite upset. They had dropped the ball on many fronts. Booked us in the wrong room, took our luggage to this room, knew we had the wrong keys, and then never let us know. We had been in the bar area at least 45 minutes. They could have called our cell. The young, and very inexperienced, front desk person asked us to leave with her to go to our new room to discuss this. I asked for the Manager on duty so I could understand what went wrong. She told me that he had left for the night. (Mistake number 3 - she lied - he was there). We were given a beautiful 3 room suite - they were sold out. It was stunning - yet I was still sick over the ordeal. She showed us the room and started walking out the door. I asked what could be done about this. The wonderful manager, Neil, called her and she left and he came up. They treated us marvelously. We had a beautiful room, free drinks-dinner-room service. We did not want to take advantage of this - we already dinner reservations and only had two cocktails in the lobby as we had already planned. We had booked on points - we do this a lot since have so many. They refunded the points and we are grateful for Neil, he did an excellent job.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, please accept my sincere apologies for the way how your anniversary stay initially started - perhaps we have turned it around with our manager's initiatives, but you can rest assured that we will diligently retrain all involved.
