Stayed here two weeks and had a lovely stay.

The Thompson Washington DC is perfect. Friendly staff, lovely clean rooms and a great location. Unfortunately the hotel was over booked when we arrived but the move for one night was no problem and smoothly handled. When we got back the next day we appreciated the beautiful room and the rooftop bar was a real bonus. A great stay.

I completed a one night stay at the Thompson hotel Washington DC in June 2024. I found the hotel to meet all of my needs for the visit. My trip included meetings in the city as well as attending a Washington Nationals baseball game. The ballpark is within walking distance of the hotel in the booming wharf district. I used both the Metro and Lyft to get around as the Metro station is a couple blocks away. As a Hyatt globalist, the benefits included a nice upgrade to a corner room, a delicious breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and a welcome package that included a signature candy bar. The room was nicely appointed, although did lack of desk for business purposes. The bathroom amenities were very up-to-date and high-end. I found the room to be a better value at a cash rate than using my world of Hyatt points for the date of my stay. I will return on a future visit to DC.

The first time I stayed at this hotel was very nice. Most recently I stayed there and I moved the pillows and it was oil grease stains or some type of stains on the suede headboards that needed to be addressed because that’s gross when you have not put any stains on the headboard, but you have to sleep there disgusting. They did change my room but the new room still had the same type of stains or grease from people laying up against it. If they chose the suede heads then they need to choose proper cleansing techniques to keep them clean.

The staff was very friendly with clean rooms and good location. The elevators were too techy, but the learning curve was short. lol! The complimentary waters weee a nice surprise and I normally have to find a local store to stock up when I travel.

The Surveyor restaurant is well established and maintained! My client experience was well above reproach and exceeded expectations!!! From the onset Ms. Frida the front desk host properly greeted me and tended me to a relaxing view of the restaurant. My server Mr. Allan greeted me with much grace and warmness. His approach was delightful and catering to my needs. Mr. Allan in addition, ensured all requested meal items were available and delivered to perfection. The overall quality and consistency of the restaurant was excellent and attention to detail meet expectations. FIVE STARS *****

My wife and I had an amazing time—the bed was very soft and the rooms were very upscale-modern. We booked with the Amex portal's "Hotel Collection" and we loved the credits we received for breakfast/dinner that we used at the restaurant and for in-room service. It was a great stay overall and we can't wait to come back!
