We had a really lovely meal celebrating my mum's special birthday and the staff were really nice- the manager seemed to be juggling a lot and I hope he gets to take a break! It was a really busy Wednesday night and the staff were working really hard but still had smiles on their faces. The food is really nice and there is a nice selection to choose from. However it has now put a dampener on the celebration as we have received a parking fine despite putting in the car registration details into the machine- this puts us off going back which we were planning to do.

I absolutely adored this place! Rooms are so comfortable, safe and spacious. It however was hard to find, sandwiched between two main roads but at the back of a lake (which is gorgeous) and business blocks. My only small gripe is the expense could be better for travelling on a budget. On the whole great staff and hotel.

Agree with lots of the previous reviews in that the bathroom was the main concern and in dire need of cleaning and fixing up to a normal hotel standard..obviously not a priority for the owners. Would not come back until it's refurbished into the 21st century. Took a chance on this place because of its location but sorry I did really.

Lovely location with nice surroundings. The hotel itself needs updating and refurbishment. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was adequate and the lady Adele who seated me was extremely friendly and very accommodating. I would stay there again.

There appears to be some confusion. The main picture is of the pub. This is not the hotel. The hotel is an accommodation block next to the pub. The pub serves the breakfast if you are B&B. The hotel itself is basic and in need of renovation. It appears it used to be a Premier Inn but clearly Green King are not keeping it to the same standard. Whilst the room itself was generally acceptable and the bed comfortable, the bathroom needed attention. It was very clinical. There was significant mould along the bath and sink sealant and tile grouting needed extra cleaning. The toilet seat also needed attaching correctly. There was unsightly evidence of a past soap dispenser having been removed from wall. Doors were very old, with poor Yale locks. There was no dampening, so it was quite noisy when people closed the room and corridor doors. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was good.

Staff are all lovely but they cannot polish what is a very tired hotel with rooms that need a good makeover. Carpets and bathroom flooring are bit grubby and some of paintwork is flaking. The shower is very dated and cannot produce hot water at busy times (07:00-08:00). The tiles are grubby and the sealant has become badly stained and mouldy. Located close to town, rail station and car routes but be aware that that a team of painters and decorators are desperately needed.

Wasn't happy with the cleanliness of the room its very tired they have just painted over the bathrooms and the paint was in the bath and if the bath had been cleaned properly it would have came off, the carpet was dirty and the pillows on the bed were hard and had no pillow protectors and were yellow sweat stains on them didn't have a comfy 3 nights they say they are meant to be refurbishing them but never gets done, also there should be plug sockets beside the beds so you can charge phones etc without having to get up to phones at the other side of the room, do enjoy breakfast because of Adele who is lovely each time we are there she makes you feel so welcome she is a credit to the hotel.
