I felt comfortable and can recommend it. Modern industrial-style hostel. Comfortable beds, bed linen and towels clean and cozy. Clever construction of the bunk beds - so that everything doesn't shake when someone moves (the mattress is suspended; it rocks minimally). Rooms spartan but very functionally furnished. Very compact space, like an overseas container. When the place is full, it gets cozy. Sanitary facilities, as stated, are also small. Not a mobile home feeling, but definitely not for obesity patients. Communal kitchen spotlessly clean. The contents of the many communal refrigerators are also meticulously monitored (nothing from last winter). Quiet surroundings. S-Bahn stop directly opposite. Aldi and Rewe within walking distance next door. 17 minutes on foot/1.5 km to the beach. Great value for money for the high season. For the dorms: bring a padlock. I missed a curtain/privacy screen for the lower beds too. I would book it again.

I will never stay at the Dock Inn with small children again. The concept is fundamentally innovative. Rooms have been made out of old shipping containers. In the hotel itself, you can either eat something at the bar or cook in a communal kitchen. There is a gaming room, a cinema, even a sauna, and various games to borrow. The public space is just for being. The piano, which is open there, must not be played, as it is an instrument and not there to be played. Not a single adult has played a whole piece of the piano correctly these days. The children just ran up to it and were sent away! You can borrow skateboards, you can ride them around indoors for free. What do you think, dear Dock Inn, children do with them? Play, of course. The staff constantly came and complained. Our children played normally and moved around normally in public spaces. One boy was told off for not wearing a mask. He was 12! A group that was happily partying on the first floor - the music volume was perfectly fine as long as the door was closed - had to turn the music off! Partying is not allowed either. Dear Dock Inn: What do you want to be? A hostel for young people or a hotel for adults who don't party and don't have children? You need to rethink your concept. And your staff - especially the stiff young blonde woman - need to work on their friendliness!
