Second time I’d stayed at this hotel and it definitely was not as I remembered it. Whilst the reception staff were pleasant, and the room was clean, the communal areas such as corridors were not clean and wasn’t seen to have been hovered during my 3 day stay. Also arrived at the hotel to find the restaurant was shut and after a 3 hr drive had to then drive to another local place for food. Used the restaurant the following day for breakfast and whilst I was relatively early there were crumbs all over the floor. The table I was shown to the lady said she would get more crockery and I then found that the knife and fork I’d been left with had been used! When I pointed this out, the waitress simply picked it up and gave me another set. No apology or anything ! After a long working day decided to give the restaurant a chance and whilst it was busy they were very limited on drinks available such as draft beer and wine. Food I ordered should have been with a sauce that was virtually none existent, and dessert was tasteless. Not sure I’ll be rushing back :(

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The issue was that Premier Inn had taken over the running of the Beefeater that was previously on site. They offered an evening meal and breakfast only. The bar was not open in between. The restaurant was filthy, the tables were sticky and the chairs were grubby. The food was just OK. We bought the dinner and breakfast package ahead of time and wished we hadn’t. Use the hotel, avoid the restaurant!

We stayed for a Saturday night to break a long journey. The receptionist was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The decor and furnishings of our room were very good, think it must have been refurbished recently and it was clean. The bed was comfortable, a peaceful nights sleep and great shower. We took advantage of the meal deal and although the restaurant looks tired from the outside, inside was fine. The food was hot and well cooked, our server was brilliant, she seemed to be keeping all the plates spinning with a smile, very attentive. Breakfast was good and once again the team member was lovely, she was polite and conscientious. A positive experience.

Could so easily given a 2 Check-in was slow and not too customer focussed. Staying 2 nights (Friday, Saturday) and requested a table for both evenings to be brusquely told the restaurant was closed on Saturday - why no email in advance? We ate in the restaurant Friday evening and Saturday morning. 1 choice of draught beer only. My wife requested a side salad with her meal - didn't arrive so asked server, still didn't arrive. The building and decor was tired and needs a make over.

Easy to find and park BUT when you revue the hotel before you book you see the restaurant photos showing a bar but when you arrive the staff tell you that it isn’t open for alcohol and the nearest pub is a couple of miles away, very misleading , also after we arrived and unpacked and settled down we found the table light was broken and the bed had split in two and we couldn’t put it back together, we should have known something was amiss as we noticed another small bed set up where there is usually a chair so avoid room 126 but surely the cleaning maids should have noticed especially the bed , we are in our late seventies and after a long drive the wife said it would be easier to put up with it than repack everything if we asked for another room, we did tell the receptionist on our departure but she didn’t even make a note of it, we always stay in a premier inn but if they stop serving alcohol we will have a rethink.

Breakfast? Nope, extra £20. The twin room you booked? Nope, have a double with a sofa instead. Two bath towels? Don't be silly, walk to reception if you really want another - well you have to walk because there's no phone in the room. And somewhere nearby for dinner? Well, if you don't mind sharing the bar and restaurant with foul mouthed workmen staying on expenses, then this is the place for you.

Very poor experience with notification on arrival that the restaurant would be closed for both nights of stay and bar only open for a short time on one night only! Necessitating locating and driving to other restaurants. In addition very noisy deliveries during the night interrupting sleep.

All the staff Gail, Rob, Lana, Carol so friendly, courteous, nothing to much trouble, and always helpful. There local knowledge was big help in helping my business. The 2 Rooms i stayed in where clean, bed and pillow great, curtains black out are Amazing. Can't fault. Shower brill hot and fast. All power points and kettle great. Bedside lamps with easy switch next to bed. Breakfast across the way was hot and tasty. Would reccomend to all I'll be back

This hotel has to be the worst Premier Inn I have stayed at. The state of the hotel and restaurant says it all, Luckily we arrived on the Friday to which we were told that the restaurant and bar will be open but not any other night through the week or weekend, I have never heard of a hotel restaurant only to be open once a week! The reception staff at the hotel are friendly but a different story with the bar staff, they are rude and give the impression they don't want to be there. The hotel rooms just look as old and tired as the buildings and uncared for! A huge let down as this hotel does have the potential given the great location.
