As I visited Bath County I got to stay in a wonderful location of Gristmill Square that was more than I anticipated. I've stayed at the expensive resort-like competitor in the area, but the Inn at Gristmill has such a home feeling and friendly customer service and that's what I enjoy. There's an incredible restaurant to attend and their breakfast was such a treat (those pastries were so delicious). I'd recommend you schedule a stay at the Inn at Gristmill Square🙂

We have stayed here for over ten years. We requested a favorite room that we previously occupied. The room was clean and matches its description. However there are crusty deposits on the shower head. A rollaway we requested went to the wrong room. One of us does not eat eggs yet eggs came with breakfast. Above all the room was cold most of each day, as low as 65, despite repeated requests for heat. Front desk was unresponsive.

This hotel offered a unique and truly wonderful weekend getaway. I really enjoy being able to park the car and just walk or sit in the peace and quiet. Our family had several rooms in two different buildings, so we got to see some of the variety offered. The rooms are well kept, and updated to modern amenities, but still have their original architecture and style. There is Wi-Fi in each room. The restaurant was a short walk from our room, and we were able to sit under stars around a fire pit in the evening. The bathhouses are a short 5-10 minute walk from the rooms as well, and there are hiking trails and a cafe, but best of all, it's so quiet and peaceful .

We loved loved loved our stay at the Inn. Rooms were cozy, and had an amazing breakfast delivered to our room in the morning.

Overall a very good experience. We had a nicely appointed and spacious room. Dinner at the in-house restaurant was outstanding. Plus that must have one of the coziest (and smallest) bars in Virginia. While not cheap, it was worth every dollar. Small negatives: remote location (lost of backcountry roads) and $50 pet fee (not clear what it covers).

This is our favorite little weekend getaway.Its a hidden gem. We have been visiting The Gristmill every year for the past few years . The Waterwheel restaurant is fantastic for a romantic dinner. We cant wait for our next visit!

Super cute inn. We stayed two nights while attending a wedding nearby. The room was nice with all it's quirks from being a historic property. We were very comfortable. Everyone was nice. We appreciated the morning breakfast delivery to our room. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

In a nutshell, I loved everything about the place. The rooms in separate buildings were unique. It was clean. The service was great, and everyone that worked there was so nice. The bar was so cute. It definitely had the best 4 barstools in Virginia. We had an excellent dinner from start to finish. In the morning breakfast was delivered in a cute picnic basket. I would highly recommend the Inn at Gristmill Square.

The Inn at Gritsmill Square is a treasure! Best staff ever with a delicious breakfast hand delivered to your door. Lovely place with lovely people!!! It is historic and peaceful. The owners are very well seasoned in the hospitality industry and have taken big resort details to a different level. Give it a try and you keep coming back!
