We had a lovely stay! Although it is a narrow, gravel road for most of the way once you come off the motorway, it is beautiful, peaceful and worth the drive. The staff were attentative and service was great. The villas are spacious (attached to one other villa), have a lovely deep bath and a double shower is great. Breakfast was so nice! We

The location was prestine, over looking the hibiscus coast of the New Zealand. The property is hidden away, near warkworth...a narrow drive thru about 5 km of bushland...but worth the drive. The staff were great, with meals to die for, excellent quality. The small villas were very luxurious, with no TV..

We have just come back from there after spending Two night's and I can't speak highly enough of the place. Absolutely Gorgeous!!! I have been and stayed at alot of different places.. But this place would be the equal of any of them for it's Uniqueness. The Staff.. the Food.. the Accomodation 12 out of Ten. What a magical way in Celebrating a 70th Birthday

Let’s see Shower hot water goes off if you adjust the water pressure so icy cold blasts Gas heater does not function properly cannot turn it off … asked staff to help … I am on my own here , cannot come …. Oh will be there in 20 minutes … took an hour and no real pleasant thing to say about the night manager … except hope you do not need to talk to her Spa baths don’t work Food is ok but crazy expensive for what it is … same price as a leading chef … and it’s not exceptional grossly overpriced We had a number of issues when we checked no apology or anything till I pushed them Its tired needs a total refurbish Not a lot to do at the place either no obvious walks … unheated swimming pool I think in its current state it’s 3 star at best

My partner and I have just had a lovely night away at WML. It is an exceptional property with very quiet self contained cabins. They are very generous in size with VERY comfortable large beds. The main lodge is very comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting in the very elegant sofas with the fire on. The food is excellent, the service excellent. If you want a nice day or two away this is for you. Simon

I feel sad to have to write this review about an establishment I have visited many times, and have wonderful memories of. But time has not been good to the Woodhouse Lodge. Let me start by saying the staff, and restaurant are amazing. There can be nothing but praise for those areas of the business. The same cannot be said for the Lodges. We were put in what I can say was a chalet in need of TLC. I have stayed in far classier Best Westerns. Our introduction to Chalet 9 was ants walking across the desk in the room. It was quickly followed by an interesting battle for control of the gas fire in the room with our neighbors who, in turning their fire on, constantly turned ours on, too. Coming back from dinner then arriving back yo a sauna of a room was interesting, to say the least. The bathroom floor was flooded when we arrived, caused no doubt by the missing shower door. The famed Spa bath was broken, taped up in a very interesting fashion, but clearly powered up. The shower area needed a deep clean and had interesting deposits over it. As I said, the restaurant for dinner was wonderful, and breakfast was great. It is such a shame to have the experience ruined by things that could be solved so easily.

A mid winter retreat with a group of friends. The lounge areas are spacious and the open wood fires welcoming and cosy. Three separate lounges to separate groups. Meals were good, not amazing. Over 3 days the menu did not change which might have been monotonous for vegetarian with no choice offered. The staff were friendly and accommodating, at times seemed very busy. The accommodation is in little units which apart from numbers 1 to 4 require a long walk or car ride to the main lodge area. Umbrellas needed (unfortunately ) and torches essential. Spacious, comfortable, well appointed and private offering fabulous long views over the countryside. Only complaint is we found the bathroom very cold, tiles freezing underfoot, and the spa bath was out of order.

We had a beautiful stay here. It’s a long track to get there but well worth it! Very comfortable bed, spacious and peaceful room with a great view, a stylish lodge, excellent restaurant and super attentive staff. Would definitely recommend.
