The hotel is old and you need to be aware there's no lift. Rooms vary and are priced accordingly. As a solo traveller I opted for a single room which was adequate! There were no curtains in the window and only blinds. Breakfast was good choice but seriously who want to go to breakfast on a weekend with service finishing at 9.30 during the week 9 am. Bedding was clean and shower room . Shower was very hot and the sink was cracked. I would emphasize rooms were pricey . I love Walkworth and I still enjoyed being there

Stayed here with 6 friends whilst doing The Northumberland Coastal Path. Lovely welcome when we staggered in after our first days walk , the good choice of beers soon revived us . The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable, with a bath in most / all rooms. Most welcome after a day’s walk. Dinner and breakfast, both had good selection to suit most people, very nice, helpful and courteous staff . Our bedroom looked onto the castle. Thank you for looking after us so well xxx

Just had a relaxing drink at the Sun, in the sun. If you sit outside with your back against the wall, you can feel the heat which has soaked into the old stone during the day. Always enjoy a trip to this pub. Staff friendly and cheerful. In fact one of the ladies has a lovely voice and sings to herself while she's working. Oh, then there's Mark, always greets us, and asks how we are and what we've been doing, a very hard worker, never still, in fact we've seen him go behind the bar to help a colleague even when his shift is finished Thanks to Harry and everyone both front and back of house.

Great location, could and should be so much better. Stayed 2 nights & while our room was a good size, the lack of a shower vs unpractical bath at the end of the bed did make things interesting! The common areas of the hotel are a little tired & in need of an upgrade as could the non existing WiFi. Staff nice enough apart from the misery of a bar/reception man who seems to come from the Basil Fawlty school of hotel/bar management. Ate in the pub and food & beer good, but could have done without the karaoke on full volume on the Sunday night.

Little get away Northumberland Warkworth village coast The sun hotel ✨✨✨✨✨ First to greet a Nice friendly lady on reception called Zoe Had a slight issue with the radiator not heating up bit right away sorted no issues at all She immediately changed out room and what a lovely surprise it was to Gorgeous room with free standing bath , amazing views out to the castle through two large windows Bed was nice n comfy room was hot Plenty of hot water to WiFi didn’t work / but that wasn’t an issue for us as we wanted to enjoy a lovely meal in the adjoining pub which was so cozy with the open fire and nice food We also walked into the rest of the village for Drinks very nice Breakfast was lovely to A nice lady Wendy was serving the breakfast was lovely plenty of choice Checkout was a little to early 10am 11am would have been perfect Overall our stay was lovely Can’t wait to return Thanks for a nice stay 😊

Great 2 day stay at this hotel. Staff were super. Lauren was really friendly and attentive when it came to sorting food and drink orders. When Mark was on reception he couldn't do enough to help, even offering to launder my clothes after I trashed them on a run across the beach! Food was good, rooms very comfortable and clean. Great location right opposite the castle. Was lucky enough to see the Aurora while staying there! Will stay again

I stayed at the hotel with a large motorcycle group. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We all ate in the main Bar in the evening. Everybody said they enjoyed the food, I had the Salmon which was very good. Breakfast was also very good.

Nice and cosy looking pub. Bar tender not very amiable. Ordered two sandwiches, neither had butter on the bread so were very dry. Couldn't have a cup of tea so ordered coffee. It came in a tiny cup and was finished well before we got our food. Not very impresses.
