Hotel Lobesa

It was a great experience we had being here for two days. Starting from check in to check out the staff really took great care extending the best possible hospitality. The staff put up a bonfire when we asked for it. Dinner and dessert was perfect to our demand. They were very forthcoming to entertain us with some performances. Overall i would say they are extremely courteous and would recommend anyone visiting phunaka to stay with Lobesa and give them a chance to serve you and leave the place with fond memories.

Luck would have it we were recommended to visit this hotel by Mr Avinash of Jaigaon. I am glad we came here because the hospitality extended by Mr Deyan Sharma. Service Manager is well above our expectations. Whatever we desired, he had gone out of his way to make it happen within the available resources and limitations. For example we requested him to organise a small bonfire considering the cold weather and he did it with aplomb. Even Ms Beenita and team have really put in lot of efforts to make our stay a memorable one. Kudos to the team effort displayed by all the staff and I wish to thank each one of them from the bottom of my heart for a job well done to make our stay a pleasant and fantabulous one. Thank you team Lobesa Hotel. Well Done.

Our room is one of the largest we have stayed in, large double bed, TV, ceiling fan, wardrobe, desk and tea & coffee making facilities. A good bathroom and shower. The small out door terrace and outdoor furniture was a bonus. Our room included breakfast

The room is huge with a balcony that overlooks the paddy fields. Soundproofing is not there as you can hear the neighbour talking. Basic bathroom. There is a bidet by the toilet bowl. Meals are simple, served buffet style with 4-5 choices to pick.

The room was very comfortable and the staff were all very helpful and polite. The only issue I had is at it is summer, there were a lot of bugs so we didn’t open the window to the balcony. The balcony has good views of the padi fields. I think this is a good hotel in Punakha.

Over the years I have stayed in a dozen different hotels in western Bhutan but Hotel Lobesa remains my favorite. It is not due to the location - Punakha boasts little beyond the Divine ****** temple and the dzong - but if you're in the area this is the preferred spot. It is built in the "Bhutanese style", incorporating much wood and stone. The views of the valley are spectacular. Best of all is the staff - they are gracious and efficient in addressing any concerns. They also ensure that meals are on time and varied in the dishes served. I was staying over with a group of 25 high school students and we were made to feel valued by everyone. I will ensure we return in upcoming summers.
